Bruce Rivers was so right when he said domestic violence defendants are the worst to represent. Nothing is their fault, they never take responsibility, they always want it their way
@citypopFM
@citypopFM 11 ай бұрын
I never thought about it from a defense attorney's perpsective but goddamn, that makes way too much sense. I know if people are arrested and sitting in jail over it, they probably feel like they have little to lose by resorting to calling the victim a liar, the charges false, and all often in futility when it comes to convincing the judge to give them any sort of break.

Dude - I am so proud of you. People make mistakes in life. Successful people learn from their mistakes and don’t let them be a barrier to their future. You’ve taken what I know must have been a low point in your life (incarceration) and turned it into a successful podcast that thousands of people love listening to. You have accepted responsibility for past transgressions and I don’t sense one bit of bitterness on your end. Too many people in your circumstances spend the bulk of their time blaming others, the system, or anything else that removes accountability from them. Best of luck and keep up the great work!

@whitewidow9046
@whitewidow9046 Жыл бұрын
@BabyLion203 well not as bad as it could. I think the judge found that really bold and unique and I think it helped. It was my best move I think. I had assult and battery on an officer, possession of narcotics and public intox so it wasn't like it was a non serious case. She ended up getting me for the public intox only because she said I was young and she was going to give me another chance and "if I ever see you in my court again I'll make the bond so high youll never get out" very seriously. Then she asked "are you on drugs now?" I said no your honor, then she said "I have a drug test here, if I give it to you and you fail it I'm sending you to jail, will you take it?" I said yes your honor I'll take it and she said "will you pass it?" I said yes with flying colors.... she shook her head like ok then... I'm about to be sick because I'd be dirty for a while bunch of things and I think she knew it but she never tested me and I walked out of there with a few fines and that was that but it was a close call. If my attorney spoke for me I'd be screwed because I said screw it and told the judge the entire story in detail without holding anything back. Something most don't do and I really do think she respected that. I felt if I didn't own up to what I had done and face the consequences like a man then it could only go bad for me so I did. I've never been back and God I hope if I do it's not infront if her again.

Im an audio engineer with over a decade of experience in a variety of enviroments. I use zoom for a lot of conferencing and meetings. The judge can not unmute he can only ask that someone unmutes their mic. Now depending on the interface that is feeding zoom audio there realistically could be 3 different places where a mute can happen. Just a btws. There is a small indication meter in zoom and on any board that tells you wether you are passing audio or not. It is very possible that the jail is incompetent when i comes to Audio visual solutions. Courtrooms typically have pretty knowledgeable av person on staff.

A paid lawyer makes a big difference. An old coworker got a D.U.I and crashed into another person who was like 60 or older. He also had a prior. D.U.I as well. The first deal they gave him, 5 YEARS. I didn't tell him, but I thought, "Man, if that's what they offered, you gonna do some time." They ended up going to trial, and bro never went to jail. Only when he was arrested, that's it.

Okay, 7:30 in & I gotta stop the video.. and save it for later. When I'm w/ my man. Oh death you're too funny, man. The voice over had me 😂. Scarecrow is gonna get smoked! I can already tell. Ace will appreciate this when he's off work too. Thanks for the entertainment. Came for the prison vids, stayed for the laughs and the uplift. 💙😏✌🏼
