I wish I had the Journey Max! Instead, today, I got my 2nd ever electric scooter, a stand up. (My other scooter, my very 1st, has a seat, which I like better, as I'm getting old and standing gets a bit tired.) And the best thing about it was it was free. Sort of. I got it from Amazon's Vine Program, so I have to write a review for at least 90% of the products I get, in order to remain at the level I'm at. The worst thing about my new scooter was, it was a cheap, economical one, by a co. called ETEKHOP. It has NO suspension, and solid honeycomb tires, so bumps are definitely felt. I think I'd prefer air tires - and I'd add Slime to prevent leaks. Taking off down the street for the first time, it wasn't as hard to balance as I thought. Oh - in the 2 hours it took for the battery too charge, before riding, I assembled it, added a mirror, a phone holder, and a travel bag. And I glanced at the paper manual - not too much, because the print is really small. Why do companies have to skimp on the manuals? I think I'll sell this scooter and get something better. It has a kickstand, but it falls over easily (inside the house, on carpet anyway). - I think it's unsteady because they put the kickstand towards the rear of the deck, while the heavier end of the scooter is at the handlebar end, especially once I added the accessories. On the way home, 2 cop cars were on the side of the road, with their lights on. A motorcyclist had wrecked - you could tell by the skid marks and the rubber left on the curb, where he impacted. The bike looked totalled, but I believe the rider was OK - he may have been thrown over the curb, onto the grass.

The Journey Max does not have an available seat attachment. They have some aftermarket ones that you can find for it, but they don't secure very well and end up moving around on you while you are riding. Also, I wouldn't advise using slime in a tubed tire at all, which the Journey Max is equipped with. I added slime to mine as a preventative only to regret it. It did not prevent flats at all, it only caused me to have to replace 3 of 4 valve stem cores that got clogged with me constantly checking air pressure, etc.. I would only recommend using slime on a tubeless tire and only in an emergency. I think the slime would prevent/fix a flat on a tubeless tire, but I had a simple puncture in one of my flats that should have been an easy job for the slime, but the slime gets between the tube and the tire and does no good. I personally carry a mountain bike plug kit for my Klima considering that it has tubeless tires. I also carry slime for an emergency situation in case the tire can not be plugged such as a side puncture, but I would have to replace that tire. The Segway Ninebot Max G30LP is around the same price as the Journey Max. It has an option for a seat and 10-inch tubeless tires. But is a single motor at about half the power of the Journey Max. The G30LP is available on Amazon as well if you are interested.
