Patient of the IBS Treatment Center here. Curious why so many people show low elastase on labs but don’t have true EPI? What are the more common causes of low elastase that are overlooked by GI doctors?

How are you making the distinction? It's really impossible to know for sure if it's EPI or something else. But lots of conditions are associated with low elastase, and there are probably more that haven't been studied yet. We haven't seen any strong correlations, but we do see it quite frequently.

I had a terrible reaction to creon. My pcp and g I dr were not helpful and decided to just refer me back to the other. In the meantime I'm not able to take otc enzymes (im allergic to mushrooms). I don't want to have sibo or sifo. I took myself off ppis my stomach pain is gone my loose stools are gone. I'm still eating small meals.

Sir i am suffering from abdominal pain diarrhea loose greasy stool bloating and back pain for last two years. I have visited three gastroentrologist they all diagnosed IBS. Even my endoscopy colonoscopy and all blood test are normal. Sir kindly suggest me should i need CT scan screening more and should i use PERT because i think i have problem with my pancrease. Sir please guide me what should i do?

Sir I saw blood in stool, (four days continusley) painless, I'm just 14 and anemic. I'm worried. In May, I have eaten iron tablets for three days prescribed by doctor, when I eat them I saw blood in stool for three days, when I stopped eating it, everything was normal. Now I saw blood in stool. What happened, I searched chatgpt and it shows gastrointestinal disease!!??
