I only just realized why Techno had the wraps around his eyes. He's "blind" justice, indescriminate in his qust to liberate all from the terrors of the Government. He took no sides in the war, but his own. Dream called him a traitor to the cause of Pogtopia, but Techno never really hid what he was there to do: cause anarchy and bring down the Government. If you use the War Pig to bring down the Government, what do you think he'll do when YOU become to Government? All in all, I LOVED this work. One of the best animations I've seen of this entire story. Bravo.

Although the story tends to paint TommyInnit as the main character; it really was Wilbur’s story. It’s centered around Tommy’s perspective of Wilbur’s full character arc, whilst having growth of his own. However, the difference is that Tommy- still has an ongoing arc (with the retrieval of his discs).

Tommy’s character-arc is a bit larger and ongoing, which is why the whole L’Manberg Revolution & getting cast out wasn’t to specifically bring solidarity to his character. Although, he did have character growth the arc wasn’t meant for his character if you get what I mean.

@@thanos7794 Tommy didn't have to do what he did though. He also has to consider how he can't always be backed up by his friends. He was the VP of L'manburg. Tommy shouldn't have ruined his chance to avoid the exile. I think both Tubbo and Tommy were kinda right in their desicions for that reason. Dream pretty much is the main villain. Tubbo thought there was no other choice, since Dream was just that powerful, and so he exiled Tommy. But Dream is technically not even following the terms of the exile. Who says Tommy can't go to Pogtopia? And what about getting robbed from everyday? He's keeping Tommy alive to make him suffer. I agree with you guys lol Dream is the one I'm against(although his character's also pretty cool here).

In the real thing, they add in some funny bits along the way and can jump in and out of character, but the animatics fully feature all the roleplay, so you see the general storyline all at once, which is more impactful, especially as you think back to the streams and realize how much you've actually watched to get that much lore. ...Is my take on this at least..? Im quite frankly annoyed by how some or even most people think Tommy is a "hero" when he is just as worse as dream. Crazy how the story basically paints Tommyinnit as the main character, Tubbo as his secondary, and Wilbur being the sometimes-mental, but in general wise teacher. All throughout the story, Tommyinnit and Tubbo were pretty much the only two significant characters that were never on the "bad side," which in this animatic was portrayed by them being for the most part the only characters to never turn red (they actually did turn red for a moment when they both sat at the bench and I'm still confused what it meant, but besides that the idea remains). Kudos to the streamers in the Dream SMP for the great storyline, and great job to Late-August for capturing it perfectly! Edit: Second point: I just realized that while Technoblade was literally murdering everybody when he had the withers, along with when he killed Tubbo, he never turned red in either scenes even though many of the weapons that he utilized were red themselves. I think this symbolizes the fact that while Technoblade's actions were horrible, his intentions through them were able to justify it, keeping him from being a so-and-so "villain" in the story and rather a different-minded "idealist" in the main character's plot.

I think that Tubbo and Tommy turning red on the bench is showing how that they considered running away, which wouldn't of been the most heroic option. Running away from their problems, leaving their friends who are in need of help, leaving everything they'd worked for, and inevitably never finishing their chapter of the war :)

Eret’s trembling hands behind the pride flag, the different design of Dream, which I love, Tommy realizing he made a mistake when holding that bow, about to shoot Dream, Schlatt’s “shadow appearance”, Pogtopia in itself, the broken walls, the pit, Wilbur’s fight of insanity, the different sides, the battle showing where everyone was, Tubbo’s presidential speech, Phil, the withers, everything. All of this makes not only a great animatic or great storyline for Minecraft, but, this changes lives. This SMP changed my entire life, I got into Awesamdude’s Discord, where I’ve met and made friends with so many, I’ve learned what and how to say things, I’ve learned not to bottle up emotions. i just got this in my recommendations and it has already been 2 years since this masterpiece has been cought by my eyes. I dont watch the DreamSMP anymore but back then i was such a big fan and rewatched all animations 100 times and its still save to say that i still love all of them and that the story will always be in my heart even if its just a ''minecraft rolepay'' it made me feel very happy and relaxed watching it and all the animators made it even more specials. This isn’t an animatic. This is a fucking work of ART. You have talent beyond recognition. I adored everyone’s character designs, especially Eret’s. I have not seen someone draw him with a Bi Pride flag cape, and I absolutely fucking love it! Not to mention Technoblade’s design, with the blindfold and everything. And as for Dream’s design, that was also especially noticeable to me. You drew him with black hair and facial hair! No one has ever done that, and I kinda like it. Phil’s design was another favourite. That was so clever, to draw him with angel wings! I admire the way you draw explosions. They look so brutal, yet so magnificent. And I loved the scene where you drew Tubbo pouring something into a potion bottle, and it turns red. Red seems to have a lot of symbolism in this animatic, and I for one, am all for it! If you can’t tell, I’m obsessed with this animatic. Every detail is there for a reason, everything transitions smoothly. God, what else can I say? This SMP used to mean so much to everybody, and when I watch animations like these, I really miss that. Even though the SMP is long over, I don’t wanna ever forget that era. Thank you for your amazing work, Late-August!!

4 years really hits when you remember how much bigger this smp was than people remember. Definitely a peak renaissance for all of minecraft roleplay smps. Shame just about all the important people either moved onto bigger things, got cancelled, or gave up that lifestyle. This fanimation is functionally a time capulse of all that love and care that went into the dsmp, despite all its faults.
