Well I sometimes get requests for videos of me playing electric guitar, so here ya go! I don't think my lead playing skills are really what they used to be, but I hope you dig this none the less. Oussama Okbi It's actually a little off.. which is why he said it's not perfect. That said, it's insanely more difficult than most people will realize, which is likely why he chose it. It uses a chromatic scale and very particular chord changes which make it really hard to play over without notes sounding 'off'.

What I love about Andy is the fact that he just jams out. He has to know that he's making some of the most illustrative and brilliant music of our generation (or any, for that matter), but every time I've seen him live he looks like he's having as much fun as anyone in the audience is. A real class act.

Yeah! I really like Andy McKee and like him I've liked Dream Theater since I was young, so this is a really cool combination. I knew Andy was into metal in addition to the genre he now plays in, but somehow him doing this was such a charming surprise. It's always really fun to watch and hear Andy play because he's always grooving along with his body and you can really see he is feeling it. He has a great time playing, and consequently his audience does too. Though I always liked this solo it was not one of my dearest favourites off the Awake album, but his choosing this solo to learn and play has definitely given me a new appreciation of it. Great solo and great playing!

What I love is the joy on your face when you play it. The fun and energy you have when you do this cover piece reflects your entire creative history as a guitarist channeling petrucci's solo through your own talented fingers. I find that the most memorable playing experiences for us might not necessarily be playing our own music, but the magic of how others music moves us and placing ourselves within that recorded performance and then duplicating not just the notes but the emotions that were originally preserved.
