Here's the rest of the story: In 2016, William Cowart, 50, got into an argument with two union officials. All three were members of the UAW (United Auto Workers) and the two men he was arguing with, Aaron Straker and Jeff Bacon (one was 40 and the other 44, but sources didn't specify which), had just been re-elected union reps at the Chicago plant. Bacon, younger and bigger than Cowart, had been drinking when he sucker punched Cowart and sent him reeling to the ground. After Cowart got up they approached him again and he pulled out his gun and fired toward the ground, but hit them both in the leg. Since this incident happened in front of a UAW meeting hall, Cowart feared mob retaliation and fled. Cowart told the rest of the story in the video except for a few details. Part of the reason for the delay in getting the judge to review the surveillance video is that the first judge was himself arrested on corruption charges (the judge was found not guilty). Cowart had to wait for a second judge to review the video, and he threw out the case. Cowart then filed a grievance against Ford, claiming unjust firing. He not only got his job back, but he got his seniority back with back pay. By the way, Cowart was a legal CCW holder at the time of the incident.

As someone who has been in the system for defending myself and my 36 week pregnant baby momma, i think the judicial system needs to be abolished and completely done away with. Communities and neighbors to do more and actually defend the moment's notice rather than waiting on the response for police and then them making the wrong call and I vouch for that you are "guilty until proven innocent.'

I was No Billed, but I went thru hell for those 18 months. Lost everything. Home, Job, Self Respect and a feeling of being somewhat safe when out in society. I became a complete recluse. I still have night mares about it and it was apx.27 years ago. But it gets easer the more you talk to friends. Something I neglected to do for far too long. Proper training, and USCCA. These are a must. You cannot enjoy the decline of this country unless you have these two things covered. Why do I say to "Enjoy" something so terrible? I'm 70 years old, XLEO, and knowing that this country will never ever be the same, all I have is traveling, staying healthy, and making the best of whatever life I have left with my Bride of 50 yrs. I am past the point of wasting precious time to call my political hack. America spoke in the last election and made it real clear what direction we are heading. I don't have time to waste. But I would not be able to enjoy life if I had the fear of losing it all. And it is all possible with tactical training and the good ol' boys and girls of USCCA. God Bless America! Can I still say that? You bet!

Sometimes I wonder is these self defense companies aren't actually in business with the courts. Courts make it harder on good people than criminals. With membership they will give you a wallet card with the most important statements that you need to know in the event that you used your firearm. I can guarantee your life and your family’s lives will be forever thankful you had this information. I am not a paid spokesperson for the USCCA, just a grateful member.

The problem is if it’s not a 100 percent perfect justifiable incident ( very few are ) then you’re getting arrested if you use it in self defense. You’ve got to be cornered and seriously injured before you can justify use of force these days. I pulled a gun in self defense and I like many here lost everything cause the legal system seemed determined to turn us victims into criminals then jail us for the rest of our functional lives.
