There's nothing wrong with "rebadged cars" as being done by IVM and Nord. As a matter of fact, that's the best way to go given our peculiarity as a country. Slowly but surely these companies can innovate overtime and grow their skills to the level of crafting their own unique engineering brands. China started by rebadging Volkswagen and using other people's IP to scale capacity. The Nigerian government should support these companies so they can run a sustainable business.

I don't know much about Nord Cars, but Innoson is doing a great job. However, Innoson needs to work on its quality. Two years ago, Moove purchased several Innoson cars for Uber in Lekki. The Victoria Island/Lekki axis was full of Innoson cars, but the quality was poor; the cheap plastic components gave up within six months. Today, most of those cars have disappeared from the roads, replaced by Suzuki cars. A couple of the drivers even told me that they had challenges with parts, which I found curious for a Nigerian brand. While we all want to drive made-in-Nigeria cars, Nigerians want durable vehicles that they can buy and keep for years.

I have never been up close with one but I guess majorly they use Mitsubishi 4 cylinders some models like it's A7 uses the Saab's 2.0 and 2.3L i4

60 percent of innoson parts are made in Nigeria, for example the euro fighter jet was made by 4 countries let that sink in. No country in the world can make every part of a car in house. Because a modern car has more than 30000 parts(let than sink in) innoson has their own state of the art company in nnewi Anambra state. That produces cars from scratch. Corrosion treatment, painting, welding, parts assembly and quality check. All done by the locals.

There are some innoson cars that are in china under the BIAC brand. Same with Nord. Innoson and Nord don't manufacture any crucial part of a vehicle. Dey don't design anything, not even body, chassis or engine. They are car assemblers

I have never seen any video showing Nord workshop, I doubt it's deserves the status of made in Nigeria. He's hiding every information about his production site and parts and I've never seen any interview granted to the owner. What Is he hiding, he should tell us how his vehicles are made in Nigeria and stop showing us showrooms and pictures on Facebook.
