When you go into the Menu, do you see "Active Tests" and "Special Functions" as the top 2 choices? Is your 5610 fully up to date? The updates are always free and can be done on a PC or MAC. Is there an OBD1 adapter for a 1987 190e Mercedes?

The app requires me to put VIN. This sucks everytime I want to check new vehicle. The phone scanner does not read VIN from the oily tag. Simply remove that requirement from the app or make it automatic as soon as it is connected to the car!

Can you check if mileage is tampered or not with this?

You can't use the 5610 to see if the mileage was tampered with. The only possible option you might have is when using the free, optional RS2 app with the 5610. With the 5610 connected to vehicle and paired to the RS2 app on your smart device, right before you generate a free diagnostic report, it will automatically pull up the correct mileage stored in vehicle. This is for the recommended maintenance portion of the diagnostic report.

I have two older cars , an ‘03 Altima and ‘05 Vue. Is this lovely new scanner going overboard for these old cars? Loved Scotty’s use of it. Also a 94 Ciera. I think I’ve answered my question of this new device.

The 5610 will be able to read and clear the check engine light, ABS, SRS for both of your OBD2 vehicles. ABS brake bleeding, bi-directional functions, and active tests are NOT supported for your 03 Altima and most bi-directional functions are not supported for your 2005 Saturn Vue. Feel free to check out innova.com/coverage to be able to type in your exact vehicle details to find out what functions are and are not supported. None of our tools, including the 5610 are compatible with a 1994 Oldsmobile Cierra. We apologize for that inconvenience!

will this identify exactly which cylinder is causing the misfire, or will it give just a "random misfire code"?

Hi Jim, when it comes to the INNOVA OBD2 scan tool, it can generally provide specific cylinder misfire information through the OBD2 code, the parameter at the Engine Live Data, and OBD Mode Test (mode 6). However, this capability may vary depending on factors such as the year, make, model, and engine of the vehicle. So, in most cases, the answer is YES.

When will coverage for 2021 Camry be out? Does Innova have any tools with such coverage?

The Innova OBD2 scan tools already work with 2021 vehicles for Global OBD2 data like the check engine light, Smog readiness, and more. For in-depth coverage like ABS or SRS, we will be releasing updates to cover those systems some time in 2023. That year is still too new and should still be under the manufacturer's warranty.

Hi there, the latest firmware version for the 5610 should be V19.06.04. If you have any version other than that one, you need an update. To update the tool, you must first download and install the software from www.innova.com/support. Select OBD2 Diagnostic Tools as the product category and then select the 5610 from the product listing. Install the software onto your computer and then connect the 5610 with a mini USB cable to get prompted for an update.

I have a question I am trying to look at live data for Misfires for each cylinder is this possible and how? And it’s for my 2004 Jeep Grand cherokee 4.0 ??? For this 5610 innova model

Yes, the 5610 will read miscount data in live data. It will be in OEM powertrain live data. You need to go into "System Status", then scroll down and highlight "Jeep OEM Enhanced", then press the "LD" button to get into OEM Live data. There will be a lot more PIDs in OEM Live Data than standard live data. Scroll up or down until you find misfire count data. Also, you can go into the "Menu", then "System Tests", and select "OBD Monitor Tests". Misfire count data will be stored here as well.

Is there a factory reset option? I need to clear all data from scan tool.

Unfortunately, not. The tool will store up to 3 vehicles at a time and cannot be manually cleared. They override as you continue to scan new vehicles. We apologize for that inconvenience!
