It took 15 years from the first time I thought about a foldable screen laptop. Since I owned my first laptop, I have always been thinking about what if a laptop didn't have a keyboard and it was all the screen but able to fold like paper and read it like a book. This is incredible!

Finally, they moved the windows task bar above the folding curve! That's way better and less distractive user experience! Also I like the more minimalist nature of the second gen, they kept things simple, reduce the bezel size and made it thinner overall and I like it! Lenovo is going in the right direction!

I still think the keyboard that goes in between the screens when folded is better, I didn't mind the gap and the crease, that was not the issue in the first place from the first version anyway. I'd definitely love one, though probably going to cost a lot, and won't be able to afford it, maybe that's why it is not easily available here in the Philippines. uhm, sayang! hehe 😊
@youp1tralala2 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely awesome. I've always wanted a laptop with a large panel dissociated from the keyboard, as it allows so much more use cases, in particular the ability to position the screen at an ergonomic height, or use different orientations, or use a full blown external keyboard without the laptop's keyboard getting in the way. This is just technically possible now, thanks to foldable displays. It's the future for a whole category of laptop and Lenovo clearly has seen it. Can't wait for this tech to be refined and become less expensive

Dope. I'm guessing this can be used as a monitor to screen share with a cellphone or laptop, wirelessly, with Bluetooth probably. If yes, then that's cool. The smaller version of this Lenovo Fold seems ideal too for people who need to carry a laptop around just incase. This almost feels like a secondary laptop, like something you'd use in addition to something else. I guess if you can afford it then this would be a good secondary piece of technology to have. I was looking at the Lenovo ThinkPad Monitor, with stylus pen. I thought it would be good to have a larger screen to screen share, for business purposes but then I thought how big it was would be a little inconvenient. Now that I see this Lenovo Fold and its size, I'm attracted to it. All the wonderful things money can buy!

How the keyboard (kudos for keeping the trackpoint and layout BTW) is supposed to be carried around with this foldable thing? Genial, excelente!
@alejocrazy2 жыл бұрын
@strikejre812 жыл бұрын

Looks great, but it has multiple flaws to justify its steep price tag (5800$ for the 32GB version in Czechia): - due to delays the i7-1260U is now 2 years old and lags behind the competition (i.e. m3 / pro / max) - base 16GB is a joke for the price (5300$), 32GB is better but 64GB should be a must - the display would deserve an upgrade - good it's an OLED, with okay-ish brightness and PPI, but both could be better and 120HZ should be a standard! Unfortunately, those are the dealbreakers for now, as for the same price one could get Macbook Pro 14" M3 max with 96 GB and pair it with portable monitor (i.e. Magedok X9 - 16", 4k, OLED, touchscreen purchased for 350$).

People are saying that this is a masterpiece: I disagree. This computer is nothing more than a "we can do it" thing. This won't last as long as I expect it to last for a computer because of the hinge (around 10 years). I know that wanting a computer to work for 10 years is a bit too much, but say that to my X200, working since 2008 (I bough it used some years ago). I also don't like the idea itself. You will mostly use it folded, so it defeats the purpose. Tell me if I am wrong, I actually want to hear what people in this comment section think about this.
@herminiogalindo77052 жыл бұрын
I agree with you that most people might use it as folded, and he does look kind of frail. But as an engineering student, I spend a lot of time reading pdfs, often with notebooks opened around, having to switch between pencil, eraser, mouse and graphics calculator. Tablets can do the trick, but they are not as versatile as the Yoga 260 I once had, since coding on tablet is complicated, even with a wireless keyboard. The ideia of being able to travel around, opening the files in different kinds of displays and fitting it on my desk is really tempting. I live in Brazil, so I might have to wait a little until it hits the market. But overall, I think it's amazing for people who study/work for +10 hours, and have to go back and forth between computer and other equipment. Using a regular desktop as of now.
