Try a Hw xr8 pro with Hw 2600kv sensored, 50t spur, 14t pinion. On 4s 68 mph, on 6s 82 to 84 mph.

Thanks, bro. This really helped me with my 4s build. I went with Tekin electronics and a Savox servo. Hopefully, I can be competitive at my local track. I used to race 1/8 Nitro Buggy & Truggy for 10 years. Decided to switch to electric this year. OMG...easy with that locktite man..sheesh! A piece of looseleaf paper in between spur and pinion, then tighten, will result in the perfect mesh. I got a kick out of you saying how old that receiver was. I was just hunting down another SPMSR3300T, as I have my even older than your really nice radio, DXS3, which came with my Losi 8-B, and also got one with my Losi TEN-T, what a great radio to come with a RTR! Many model memory, and I have about 7 cars on mine, all rigged with telemetry. Your newer radio looks like backlit, and a nice bigger screen than my older radio. Spektrum really letting me down with transmitters these days. Only option for a seriously sweet setup is the radio you can hook your phone up to, but that radio only good for one car, and all the rest seem to be just kinda blah screens now. Idunno, seems like Spektrum lagging a bit in the transmitter department. Anyway, I'm getting my Arrma Typhon tomorrow. Looking forward to it! You'rs looks sweet with those TLR additions. Love the Mamba stuff too, have nothing but good to say about their stuff for sure. Have fun!

It doesn't matter what I do I cannot get my typhon to handle like my TLR 8 2.0 or my Tekno eb. Yes TLR gave it a great go, but the Typhon is still not as fast. I can use the exact same 2050kv motor and 160amp ESC out of my TLR 8eight with the same tires, put it in my Typhon and pull lap times 2 seconds slower on average. The car just doesn't handle the same. Maybe if I put Pro Line big Bore shocks on it would be better, but that's another $160.

Hello i missed it or it was not specified. Which exact servo did you used? Also about servo horn. It seems pretty fast. Is true that servo horn in Model is 23T?It looks that you used the stock one so suppose that servo is 23T too.

You know, I did this same build, and used a Spektrum 6260 (which says its 23T, however the horn didn't fit and I actually messed it up. Going to a hobby store today (1/14/23) and taking my buggy with me, to make sure I get what I need before I leave the store. I'd prefer a clamped one actually.

Love it, Brandon. Thanks for making a tutorial on how to arrange the wirings neatly! Just wondering if that 1800kv + 20t pinion on 4s would give enough top end speed on the track because it seems to be low. But it sure will be quick and agile. Well, i guess you're only running it on the short oval track without a long straight, so it won't matter that much.

Top speed with this setup is around 38-45 mph. It's perfect for the track I run on. Gearing will be subjective for what you want to do with the vehicle though.

@@InnovationRC if so, that's fast already! I use Max6 + 1650kv on 4s in my kraton with 17/50 gearing but the tires are much bigger in this case, not like the small buggy tires of the typhon. I get around 40 mph max only and that's on the concrete. I guess the castle high efficiency comes into play here. You got it really right.

Innovation RC, Can I ask you question. Saw your video on the Castle, Hobbywing and Spektrum motors. I have a Castle 2028 1100kv and the Mamba XLX 2 1/5 Sensored Brushless ESC. I am putting them in a XMAXX. I am going to use WFO gears. Right now I have a 35t Spur gear and a 19t pinion. I like Speed and Bashing. What would you recommend for a pinion to match up to a 35t Spur? I hope you can answer this. Thank you for your videos.

FYI, loctite doesn't dry. It cures in the absence of oxygen, so it will remain liquid until you screw in the fastener.

I had the same question. I ended taking the seven screws that hold the battery case/receiver case off, which made fishing the wire super easy. This is a year later, so you most likely already resolved this!!
