My wife and I stayed at the Goldener Adler in September 2014! Yes, it's a Best Western hotel. We discovered that there are many Best Western hotels in Europe on our first trip to Switzerland in 1987. We had reserved rooms at the Hotel Zürcherhof in Zurich. When we walked up to the hotel (a short walk from the train station), we were taken aback at seeing the Best Western sign/logo at the entrance. We then discovered that the Best Westerns in Europe are not the same kind of roadside hotels/motels found in the U.S.A. We stayed at a Best Western in Ouchamps, France a year later that was also part of the Relais de Landes chain of hotels at that time... and it was an actual working chateau/farm operation. We called ahead (from our Best Western booklet) to say we'd be in about 9:30 p.m, and I still remember sitting down to an amazing dinner at 9:42 p.m. by the fireplace in the main room. (I had rabbit -- "How can you!?!?" declared my wife in horror -- in a wondrous mushroom sauce and can still recall the taste and the wine that went with it!). As it was late October (and near the fall/winter closing), there were only a few German cyclists staying at the chateau. For our three-night stay, I had breakfast sent up to our room: fresh-baked croissants and other pastries, jam, fruit, cheeses, sausages, and a pot of coffee and hot milk. Woke my wife up each time (she's not a morning person but those fresh baked goods awakened her -- a dirty trick, I know!). Glad you and your precious wife Kanae are having a wonderful trip and can share it with us!

I think that mime character was trying to be the “ghost of Christmas”. Thanks for the lovely walk through the streets and also the river. Added a christmassy European feel this morning. I was in Innsbruck 30 years ago and watching your video makes me want to return.👍🏼👍🏼

I've stayed at that hotel!! Beautiful isn't it? It's called that because it is on the same plaza as "the golden roof" the ancient famous building where the roof tiles are gold. I wish this stream had been longer. Maybe I can catch the next one live.

Wonderful Innsbruck! I lived there for several years. Not sure if you saw my live comment yesterday, but do check out the market in the next town Hall as well (short train ride away)! Heh, I keep missing your streams on this trip, but so many of these cities are places one of my sisters always said she loved. I guess her favorite was Salzburg, but I get it better now that I can see it via John-and-Kanae-cam. :) (She didn't mention glubwine, though. :) Though if anyone visits New England, we got hot mulled cider for an equivalent. :) ) Also I dunno if the guy in the white makeup was a mime, maybe the ghost of a town crier, by his outfit? (I think he'd have had a bell if I'm right.) :)

Shady GroveARR - it’s also a shame that a town wanting more visitors would be claiming music from a vlogger who brings so much for tourism to the areas he highlights.
