Such impressive running from Cole and Evan. They are making it look too easy. I think they need some tougher conditions to train in. Perhaps something like the conditions I had for my long run today. After all the cold here, it warmed up, which meant melting and impassible puddles and then yesterday it started to snow. The town got out early to clear the paths but it still meant some very variable running conditions. Some Bare and dry pavement. So bare and wet pavement. Some bare but slippery pavement. Some froze puddles. Some semi-frozen puddles. Some cleared pavement with a few millimetres of snow as cover. Some uncleared sections with 5-10 cms of fresh snow to run through. Top it off with being chased by an unruly dog and it was an adventurous 20 km for me. Running on snow is a lot like running in loose sand. It takes more push off effort to get momentum and even still, each step doesn't get you very far. I think it was at about the 12 km point when I was running through a section of snow and I could feel the lactic acid building. I didn't feel like I was working hard aerobically but the extra effort for each step was taking its toll. I think Cole and Evan need a bit of that. 😏 lol Great job with the workout today. They are looking so strong. That has to be lending a lot of confidence going into this next race. Can't wait to see how Cole, Evan, & Haven do. Didn't see Haven in this workout but in the last few workouts, she is starting to look strong too. Let's GO!!!!!

Oh hyung hang in there and take it slow!! Haven did a great job and killed it too! I think she is looking good for her race in 3 weeks!

Stoked to be doing this race with Cole and Evan! Major major inspiration. Are they gonna be trying to stick together on the course? Or do they each have individual goals? And are you running with them, MK? Way to push it with them today before the rain! :)

Hey orion! Cole and evan will stay together until the half. I will drop down to the half marathon and wait for them there and run w evan to the line. Let's meet up for a shakeout on Saturday if possible. Email me at allheartrc@gmail.com if interested.

Wow, so impressed! They are definitely ready and hope when their taper starts, they can embrace it. BTW, MK, how often are they taking gels? Is their bottle the same combo that you use? Finally, I will be running Ventura as well and hopefully catch you all before the race for a hello, since you will be long gone by the time I finish. 😆

Please send me an email at allheartrc@gmail.com to exchange phone numbers. Let's try to meet for a shakeout or a post race celebration! They take gels every 5 miles starting at mile 4 of the race. And yes they will use the same mix of lmnt and liquid iv.
