@@MarkReese 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8 are still super good super safe pro options. The f2 zooms like this seem like dentist lenses to me. Lenses for collectors. No problem if that's what you want. A pro will have the zooms and then maybe add a prime.
@MarkReese10 күн бұрын
@@texmex9721 - Haha I'm no lens collector. But I am a pro sports photographer, and the difference from f/2.8 to f/2.0 is a full stop. If that means being able to shoot at ISO 6,400 instead of 12,800 in some dark gyms, then that's a huge advantage. If light isn't the issue, then the next consideration is the degree of background blur & quality of the bokeh. For that, an f/2.0 is better than f/2.8, but not a world-changing difference to my eyes. I'd say a 2-stop difference is needed for a dramatic improvement in background blur. That's where those f/1.4 primes come into play.

Jared's Nikon pain runs deep - it's hard to get over your Ex. however, his Z50 ii review is good. to be fair, Fuji is the only brand I see really pushing aps-c tech. Canon is using modified M series and 90D sensors, and it seems Sony has been using/tweaking the same a6 series sensor forever. everyone loves the Nikon D500 sensor. those sensors are all great so i think it's okay the big brands reuse them and have lower cost options. the advancements are mostly in processors and AI algorithms anyway.

A 70-150mm f/2 would have a front element of 75mm which is only slightly bigger than a 70-200mm f/2.8's 71.5mm so only very slightly bigger and heavier and might not be much more expensive either. The Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z lens has a 82mm filter size so this 70-150mm f/2 might fit the same housing anyway and they could make it another matching Z lens. However perhaps Canon will make a 70-200mm f/2 instead which would be even more amazing but would be very similar in size, weight and price to their 100-300mm f/2.8

Is he recording the VF output to an external recorder while in photo mode or is he just extracting a single frame from a video and post-processing the frame? Sony, I don't know their whole line up but I'm pretty sure it's the same; small form factor APS-C cameras that are full of features but just are not what wildlife shooters are looking for. I like my R7, but FFS the camera is too small to use with larger lenses and it can't take a grip (unless you got with some third party option that doesn't really hold up well).
