Thanks, that looked fun. I've got to make one of these setups, I already have everything. I'd love to get a haul like that, and make a 55 gallon drum of the best fertilizer money can buy. They charge $20 a gallon for Alaska fish fertilizer at the local HD, etc. I made a 5 gallon batch from one medium size carp this spring, and my veggies love it (I live in the desert, so I don't worry about calling every scavenger into the yard from the awful short lasting smell.)

Its a cold steel bigbore blowgun. Same pipe as the Tim Wells just doesnt have his name on it.

Awesome video! I just tried “blowfishing” for the first time last week end and got one stingray. Do you prefer braided line over mono or flouro? Also, how long are the darts you use? Do the caps usually stay on?

Thank you. I like 20 pound braided line. The darts are so light I want the lightest line possible. Any additional weight slows them down and reduces power. I use the Fishhawk darts from Slockmaster.com. I go over my setup in this video here if you want to see. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKbPi3yof6iLeKc

How deep can you shoot a fish?

Pretty shallow unless they are almost straight down. 12 inches for good penetration. Beyond that and I get a lot of pull outs.

They probably could in lakes and rivers with sandy rocky bottoms. Any lake with mud or silt they rut around like pigs. They destroy spawning beds of bass crappie and panfish in lots of lakes. They suck up eggs and compete for other resources. Its just really bad in some lakes like this one.
