I was thinking about what happens in a turn jack or queen on the flop. Two-pair always has to be concerned about straights, and AK making two pair is a favorite to get stacked by QTs and QJs, which is why I play those hands OOP. AK is always playing and always in range. Axdd fell into the best bluff spot when the perfect Qd hit the turn providing an uptick in equity to go along with having more Jx in range. AJ, KJ, QJs, and JTs would all play the hand exactly as he did. Connected hands don't really want to make two pair, and when they do, you should discount them as nuttish holdings. You're much better making 2-pair with A2 or K2 than AK.

The thing with this A6s bluff is, why would you play a str8 with a J like that. Makes no sense imo overbet basically the nuts like that and get folds from 2 pair if you want value :D Would like to hear Landons thoughts on that hand
@dxfifa3 жыл бұрын
If you think the opponent is adjusting to the nut advantage you have by folding, overbluff If you think he knows you'll be doing that and will bluff catch then underbluff It's purely exploitative to jam bluffs here, because you're right Jx jamming makes no sense against a guy who folds top 2, Johnny has no value hands here, because he knows what matt will have to do with most of his range (which crushes johnny's holding here)

Matt's thought process and breakdown vs JV is so solid.. the question I have is would JV actually bet a J for 2x there.. he probably should as Matt has a very strong range of AK AA KK.. what an incredibly sick spot, but I dont know that he does.. i definitely think there's imbalance in this spot for JV.. I'm not sure whether the imbalance is lack of bluffs which Matt recognized for sure or if the imbalance lies in JVs sizing relative to range as he doesnt do this with his Jx.. I think from a theory side AK folds sets call.. if JV does take the 2x for value line I think he is imbalanced and can be exploited by over folding.. really interesting spot.. and a miracle turn.. would be interesting if instead of a Q it was like a 3 of diamonds.
@paulicas13 жыл бұрын
Horrible fold by matt. Johnnie only has Jx for value for this sizing and also if he watched a couple of Johnies videos he would know that he never ever chooses that size with a J. Also add that its the end of the session Matt has an easy call. Bad play from both ends imo
@dxfifa3 жыл бұрын
No, Matt is thinking Johnny would go to showdown with hands that his range crushes that are made hands when bluffing is clearly better w Ax (one pair) or T9s, 99, K9s. now that's less of his range than Broadway combos, but much much more than Jx, and johnny doesn't have all the sets. And he wouldn't value shove 2 pair or TT with matt's range here having top two + so often
@stevie2fu3 жыл бұрын
It's an interesting spot, Paulicas is saying though JV never plays a J like this.. so Matt can exploit by never folding in this spot

This has always been a really great format, but I'm not a fan of players showing their hands at the end when there's no river showdown. I don't think the point is not to leverage ANY live tells. We were obviously not going to try to lip read or get any information by looking directly at our opponents when the action was on them because that would obviously be cheating. As far as the timing goes, I think everyone was pretty consistent in their timing of explaining things whether they had strong or weak hands.
