Seeing the price of that IROC killed me. My wife had a 91 Firebird GTA with 20k on the odometer, black on black with gold rims. The perfect GTA in mint condition and only 440 made in that color (2,000 total)... until someone stole it and wrapped it around a tree. She eventually got another one but it's red, higher mileage, and in need of some work.

I almost bought a nice one in 2001 for about $12000 Canadian. It was a nice car, but only marginally nicer than the base model Civic. The hot ticket was that B18 engine and swapping it into an EG with a turbo. I can’t understand why it’s worth over $100k, that price seems outrageous for a twin turbo Supra.

I miss the up to speed, bumper to bumper, and garage science videos. Although that video about Porsche making gas from air and water was super dope. I like these videos too, but I really miss James yelling his catch phrases and hearing about the history and updates on cars and brands. Edit: a new money pit or similar series would be awesome too

I have an idea for scoring! If you were to tally up how far each person was from the actual price, you could then do "lowest score wins." It would be a little different than just "closest guess gets a point" and would reward consistently-close players. Would be a little more math, but it also has the potential for massive outliers (like the mercedes or the porsche) to be a major upset, which could be entertaining. just an idea for some extra variety.

Well, I mean, there are a good amount of obtainable cars that look pretty good in the 23-27k range, it's not "cool" to drive a Mitsubishi mirage even if it's brand new and only costs 16 grand. I was looking at some random car onweship information a few days ago. It stated that 80% of America have a loan on their car, 12% of America lease their car, only about 8% of Americans own a car they have fully paid off.

I was in the passenger seat of my buddy's IROC Camaro when he crashed it lol. Our friend in front of us took a corner too fast and spun out (it was raining), we had to go straight off the road to not t-bone our friend. It was off a small hill so we caught some decent air before plowing through a fence 😂

That is what they are good for - my first car was an Iroc and I have another im rebuilding. They will never be worth more than 15k. The last IROC that sold for 100k had 5 miles on the odometer. This one was not worth it by any means.

I love that Nolan got mad about thew IROC Z... They were going for $50k, then $60k, then $70k consistently. This was inevitable. This is payback for that video on how the Mustang beat the Camaro every generation which was so biased it wasn't funny. If it was a Fox Mustang he probably wouldn't have protested even though the Fox was shaped like a brick, had terrible sheet metal, economy car interior and couldn't handle. Cool car, but not "nice" or "stylish". The IROC was a nicer car for the time and the G92 performance option cars were quicker than the Foxbodies. And a stock IROC would take a commonly modded Fox on the track with turns easy. The aftermarket favored the Fox so there's rose colored glasses there. And the 4th Gen F-bodies absolutely dominated. To quote Car and Driver from 1985: "The Camaro looks like a $100k car and if we saw Camaros as seldom as we see Ferraris we'd probably pay that for it" And someone just did.

At this point you could buy sought after cars new, never drive them, keep them in a garage, and sell them in 20-30 years for massive profit. You would need to strategically pick the cars but it seems like the return would be better than investing in the stock market. I think the Demon 170 with no miles will sell for astronomical prices especially when gas powered vehicles are no longer being sold in the states.
