Also I think a good idea would be to get a native predator fish and catch the swordtails to feed to them I know few other people said same thing it’d be awesome to see

Well worth it! That’s why it’s called ‘Fishing’ not ‘Catching’!! R there any spots locally on the GC for Rainbows?? Have u checked out Crane Creek in Nerang at all? I’ve collected driftwood along the creek for a few yrs now & it has some perfect sections along parts of the Ck depending on rains or not etc…. I also have a spot I’d love to share w u right around the corner from me…. I’m 100% sure there would be more than A few spots worth fishing along its little tributaries & pools. I guess ud have to have a look for urself as I’ve not used traps b4 so can’t tell u exactly what’s in there I can say it’d be a great stretch for you to check out & throw in ur traps…… if u haven’t already been here that is!! Let me know if ur interested n I’ll tell u where in Nerang I mean. Please let me know re any Nerang Rainbow fishing spots……please!? Cheers

I’m interested, and not in Nerang I haven’t done enough trapping there yet. I’ve found a couple spots in Coomera so far with some decent rainbows

The rainbows still have to be there to catch though, I think it’s all about scouting areas and learning where the fish are which is mostly what I do in these videos. Unfortunately the swordtails out compete the rainbows being live bearers

Is this legal? In Canada although you can catch fish or hunt, it is completely illegal to keep native wild animals as pets. I would be surprised if Australia was different. I think you guys are getting confused between catching fish and keeping them.
@Dundeel.
@Dundeel. Жыл бұрын
You’re allowed to go fishing in Australia and keep fish.. as long as it meet size and bagging regulation. Your country is backwards if you’re not allowed to fish lol
@Dundeel.
@Dundeel. Жыл бұрын
Perfectly legal to keep the fish you’ve caught as long as it meet the fishery regulations.. that’s why there is bag limits and possession limits in Australia
@Tugela60
@Tugela60 Жыл бұрын
@@Dundeel. Keeping caught fish for eating or bait is one thing, keeping them as pets is quite another. Different regulations. The reason is concern about spreading disease and introducing alien genetic material into local populations, along with concerns about commercial exploitation of wildlife in a manner not intended. If the law in Australia is like that in Canada, then what you are doing is competely illegal. You guys are confusing fishing regulations with wildlife conservation regulations, and they are NOT the same thing.

@@Dundeel. We can fish, we are not allowed to keep the fish as pets or use them to restock elsewhere. The same applies to all other wildlife. I would be surprised if it is not the same in Australia, since most western countries have similar laws.
