I love how they interrupt each other like siblings, finish each other’s sentences, but never get mad at each other. They are unique. It’s like neither of them have an ego about their success.

Something that I noticed is that when Shaggy speaks up when J is talking, it's never really to interrupt but always to add to the story. It's as though the two of them are of one mind.

I think it's dope to see Shaggy so happy in these interviews that have been coming out recently. Very talkative. They're finally getting they're industry recognition and respect they've always deserved. Yall ain't gotta bump it, but y'all gotta respect it. I'm Happy for both em. I come from shit. I got into ICP at 11, I'm 34 now. The clown's made my childhood so much better and gave me an escape from an otherwise terrible life. I'm sure all Juggalos can relate. Fort Worth, TX Juggalo.

Bruh after watching these interviews and the one on no jumper I’ve came to the conclusion that they need to make a movie/biopic like straight outta compton!! Imagine these fools growing up doing backyard wrestling and then the day they painted there face and turned into ICP and then all these record label stories and coming up on a million dollar deal 3 times pure profit .. I think it would be interesting and I don’t even like there music lol

i did shows with their label for 7 years straight. funnest times ever. i got to meet so many legendary rappers because of them. i even bought a house and paid it off through that and i doubt anyone here even knows who i am. weather you like these guys music or not, they are hip hop. their knowledge of the detroit hip hop scene back in the day is deep as fuck. they were a really good way to get your foot in the door doing concerts. once you do shows with their crowds anything else is boring.

These guys went from pushing a solid 30,000 Physical Copies to a solid 300,000 Physical Copies each project independent to landing a Major Deal and getting GOLD plaques and PLATINUM plaques in the day of Physical CD sales. Out of the Joker Cards I liked "the Great Milenko" the best, but "Riddle Box" wasn't bad either. They also have a catalog of albums which feature top artists like Ice Cube. Violent J should let Shaggy 2 Dope talk more without blowing off what he is saying. They found a lane and were white guys who loved Hip Hop, the true culture and fought against racism heavily. The Lil Pumps and Lil Purps and every other white rapper out there can learn so much from these guys about the respect of culture. Research why they at one point hated Kid Rock and Eminem. Do your diligence. You will have a new respect for the Wicked Clowns.

Personally though, I'd say guys like Tom Macdonald, Ryan Upchurch and Adam Calhoun are the best examples of completely self made independent artists. They have zero to do with any labels and are completely free to speak on what they want, while owning 100% of everything. And they are all millionaires.

Not just known in Michigan....they were known in the mid 90s in indiana too. Seen them 4 different shows in indy, and the first one I THINK was in 92/93 only standing room, no chairs and only like 100 people and most came from Michigan and followed them to shows, but there was quite a few of us being 16 driving down to watch their shows. Around Great Milnko years more people were showing up. The last show I seen of theirs had Twiztid, ICP, and I THINK Esham came out before anyone and only did like 2 or 3 songs, then twiztid, them ICP and then the band Slayer played. Crazy times and memories.

What he meant was they took it as a business as opposed to a talent or hobby. They were rap entrepreneurs Like master P pressing their own CDs selling out the trunk (rap route) where as people like Eminem was very lyrical and went to freestyle contests to get signed by a major (hip hop route). Being able to freestyle on the spot got a lot of rappers record deals in the 90s that’s how people like Mase and DMX were discovered.

@@MadroxMonoxide777 Yes, the Dark Carnival came from his dream. I remember seeing an interveiw, and J explains that the "Clown" is a mockery to society, and since they grew up poor, they were considered as such, because upper social classes of society clown people who are in poverty and have less. So it became an embracement of that same mockery, talking shit in their songs as they went along.

Nope. This was explained in Behind the Paint. They sprinkle in Esham, KISS, Alice Cooper etc etc all doing it as well but Yeah. The dude from the dog beats cover was the guy.

I burst out laughing when they mentioned Bob-Lo. The boat was a huge double-deck, paddlewheel boat with bands and lots of room for dancing. Riding it to the island was a bigger deal than the actual amusement park. We all wanted to sit on the top level. The ride took forever and you'd get sunburned like a piece of toast.
