The age difference between Himekawa and Aqua is of 3 to 4 years, not just 2 years. Himekawa recently turned 20 and Aqua said when he went to that one mangaka's home that he's 16 years old.

When Himekawa asks Aqua, "How old are you again? Seventeen?" Aqua doesn't correct him, so Aqua must have turned 17 sometime during rehearsals. To be fair, Aqua IS kind of dumb-struck at the time, but it would be weird to have Himekawa get his age wrong in that scene for no reason. That would make them somewhere between just under and just over 3 years apart, depending on how recent "Only recently turned 20" is and when exactly Aqua turned 17. Of course, if we do see another subtitle identifying Aqua as 16 years old, then Himekawa mis-guessing his age might be significant. But even if Aqua is still 16, he's been 16 for at least the 6 months time the series has covered so far, so he and Himekawa are not more than 3 1/2 years apart.

@@bojackbojackbojack I guess it must be region locked for you, that's a shame. Try searching for "B Komachi Say What" ("Say What?" is the name of the song) and maybe you can find a reupload. There's another one called "Shinkai 52Hz" or "Deep Sea 52 Hz", but that's a lot more mellow and very short, so I'm not sure what the use case of that one is going to be.

Ai was 16 when she was pregnant with the twins, but we're not sure how close she was to 17 and might have already become 17 by the time she had them. She was days away from becoming 20 when she was murdered, so that puts the twins somewhere between 3 and 4 years old at the time.

@@ashrimpcalledhank You think? In the phone booth, she narrates "I decided to contact the guy I'd broken up with", so Ai is actually the one that broke up with him and not the other way around. And, while there could be a number of reasons for her to initiate the breakup that were his fault, I have a theory that she had her own reasons to break up with him. She also says to the father "Our kids are super smart, I'm sure they'll understand our situation" which implies that not being together is something she regarded as necessary, maybe even mutually beneficial. It's not much to go on, but enough that I think we'll discover that Ai's relationship with the father wasn't nearly as cut and dried as most people seem to assume.

Himekawa's parents died 5 years ago. He was raised by his parents, not in a home. If he was 3 when his parents died he would barely remember them, instead of being able to say that he "always hated" his father.

I wonder tho: Aqua dedicated his entire life to have his vengeance, so now that he found out his father is long gone, what will become of him? i mean, he have nothing else to live for, he even lost the star in his eyes, they didn't even become white, they just vanished, so...yeah, what now? I wonder, there might be some person in the doctor's hometown who knew him, right? i mean, he was a local doctor, so i wonder if we will see some family member or friends... Well thats assuming that 1: it was indeed his dad. and 2: his dad was the one who was behind AI dying. It could be possible that this arc isent done yet at all. And honestly I really doubt it is. I think some misdirection is at play here. It does beg the question, how is Aqua going to live now, seeing as he lived his entire life up to that point for revenge. He uses Akane and Kana as tools basicly and dident see them as people per se. How will he continue going forwards and stuff like that? Im even more hyped for future seasons tbh because this is interesting stuff!

Havent read the LN/manga but I highly doubt the 'I want to kill my own dad' arc will end in such a whimper. The guy defenitly wesent Aqua's dad. Or if he was, someone else caused AI's death. I just believe it will end this early. Also I think were gonna get some character development for Aqua as well. Because hes basicly used Akane and Kana simply as tools. Yet now they care for him and how is he gonna handle that. Also Ruby was so super cute this episode, damn. The crow lady is I think some death god, or something simular. Crows are often asociated with death or messengers of death.

Would be a bit careful about paying too much attention to hair color in anime. Sometimes they obey genetics, sometimes not. But that's not Aqua's (or Taiki's) dad, agree there.

The dialogue in these last couple of episodes explicitly confirmed everyone's ages specifically so we could do the math here. Himekawa is 20, Aqua is 17. Himekawa said his parents'* double-suicide happened when he was 5, which means Aqua and Ruby would have been 2 at that time. This puts the double-suicide roughly 2 years prior to Ai's murder, which clearly shows that the man Himekawa believes to be his father cannot be the one who orchestrated Ai's death. It's honestly pretty bizarre that Aqua - who has been obsessing over every detail of Ai's death for the last 13 years - somehow can't do the grade-school math to recognize that this clearly cannot be his father. Edit: I guess Himekawa's asking Aqua if he'd turned 17 in this episode doesn't 100% confirm that he has, and Aqua and Ruby were shown as 16 earlier this season. But still, that would only widen the gap between Himekawa's parents' death and Ai's death even more.

@@demoulius1529 Right, but ep. 1 had a couple of bits of information for the audience which virtually 100% confirm that Aqua is right that his and Ruby's biological father was the one behind Ai's murder. (the scene where Ai makes the phone call and tells the other person her new address - she specifically refers to Aqua and Ruby as "our kids" during that call)

At 1:49 "that might be the guy that adopted himekawa” what does he mean by this? Is he saying the silver hair guy who is assumed to be the father of himekawa is actually someone who just adopted him? Or does he mean the guy thats currently taking care of himekawa is the his real father since that guy also adopted him, what is he saying?

We have just a few episodes left so i hope we can have more Ruby for the rest of season.😢 The whole daddy reveal look sussy, i think Himekawa information wasnt as reliable as we think. Prediction (not a manga reader): I think Uehara was not, in fact, Himekawa's father. I think Himekawa's mom cheated on Uehara and got pregnant with Himekawa doing it. A couple of years after getting Himekawa's mom pregnant, Himekawa's real father got Ai pregnant, as well. A few years later still, Uehara found out his wife had cheated on him back then and Himekawa was not his child, leading to the double-suicide. That would mean Aqua's dad is still out there, somewhere, and the revenge will be back on when Aqua finds out.

anime only, my guess is that Aqua's father and Taiki's father being the same is just a red herring. I can see that this is just a big cover up just to throw off anyone trying to prove Ai has actual biological children. It could also be that Aqua and Taiki's father are blood related if we're going through with the DNA results, their fathers are brothers or blood relatives. There's just no way that this is how Aqua's "revenge" ends. Though again this is just my gut feeling 😂

I think they do share the same father (the DNA test would easily have shown they have identical Y-chromosomes), I just don't think that father is who Himekawa thinks it is. The various time and age references we get clearly put the double-suicide of Himekawa's about 2 years before Ai's death, so the man Himekawa believes to be his father cannot possibly be the same person responsible for Ai's death.

Todays episode made the ending not like i predicted lol. I expect the father situation to go until the end, this make me wonder where the story goes from here. Also all the crows do not give me a good feeling.Overall enjoyed today episode being anime only. I also want to say a small portion of me wants to believe aquas dad is still out there but the test results makes that prediction unlikely now lol or maybe theres more to the story than we think.

Manga reader here, anime watchers only be aware of what's gonna happen next XD Here are some spoiler alert ~~~~~~~~~⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ * It's not over yet, Taiki's information given to Aqua about their "father" was dead long time ago was a false/misguided info, because even Taiki didn't know that both their biological father is someone else - Hikaru Kamiki (he was 1 year younger than Ai, so he was 15 when Ai was 16 etc) . He would be easy to recognize once he made his presence known in the anime later i supposed, since he had the same hair color and style as Aqua. He is a psychopath who kept his hands clean by manipulating somebody else to do the killings. (even tho he indeed was a victim once before too, as he was taken advantage of by Taiki's mother when he was just a 11 years old boy.)

I dont think it done i assume there will be a hook at the end of the season or in the next. but you never know might get a AOT ending or even worst a thorfin type character change where he does have a route to revenge but decides to let it go for the girls
