It is a little longer than most of the videos you react to, but it is definitely worth your time. It is one of the most touching videos I've ever seen.

The US does not negotiate with terrorists. It is a 250 year-old law. The 1.5 million was an insurance policy. The aid organization had on their workers. So that is why I’m the money end. and I agree the CNN rescue of Jessica Buchanan where she’s actually being interviewed is a very good video. She has spoken at many fundraisers for families of Navy Seals fundraisers, etc. since.
@bradjenkins14752 ай бұрын
You should take note that the 1.5 million dollars. That was offered and rejected was not money from the u. S government, it was private money that had been collected and offered to save her. The government still does not negotiate for release of hostages for money. So quite simply the reason they spent 100 million. Was because they were gonna pay nothing as a ransom because it was a ransom.
@algoner44212 ай бұрын
I was wondering why they offered that. Glad to know it wasn't the government. Thanks for info.

Kidnapped By Pirates For 93 Days - The Unbelievable True Story Of Jessica Buchanan & Her Captivity. This one is the best by far as Jessica tells what she couldn't tell on 60 mins. First off, her security team was paid 100K to be able to kidnap her. Her co-worker also knew she was to be kidnapped. The 100K came from an American source. Moreover, the USA knew EXACTLY WHERE SHE WAS AND COULD EVEN LISTEN TO HER.

Nice reaction but this is not the best telling of the story. The 60 Minute version is told by Jessica herself. Also the $100m spent for the mission is misleading. There was not a disbursement of $100m. In typical government fashion the man hours expended, cost of weapons and material, aircraft flight costs, add on any medical care that was necessary as well as the time spent coordinating the mission with foreign "players", they come up with a cost analysis. So, my guess is that most of the resources used were already "in place". Thanks for the post and TC.
