That was a big green sunfish/bluegill hybrid. I do a lot of light line multispecies fishing out there. I have a really hard time locating crappie out there though. I've seen huge slabs come out of that lake. I just can't find them.

Great content man, I'll be moving to the area in a few months so looking for some fishing info on the area. Your channel seems to be the best in the segment. I'm planning on using an ultralight/light rod setup, but do you think its too small for this lake? What power rod are you rocking? Thanks for the content, keep it up!

I appreciate it! For a lake like canyon I wouldn’t go any lighter than a ML for spinning. Just in case of a giant. There are a lot of 10+ in there. But if your panfishing for yellow bass, crappie or gills. The ultralight in perfect!
