i REALLY love this series. I stuck at 900-1000 elo right now its nice to see people improve with your help. I just have two comments you might consider: 1. It's good that the player sees his mistakes first. I really liked that approve in this video. But it would be really nice to hear your ideas first. So maybe you can mute your microphone and comment on mistakes and when the player calls his mistakes everyone can see how many mistakes he already had on mind.

I'm not sure how big the market is compared to league of legends but your takes on decision-making process and KPIs (ex. saying once you get a castle down is when you want to look imp) in different game states were uniquely informative compared to the typical teaching type aoe2 content i see. I think the real time coaching stuff that Neace does with league could be an avenue for you to supplement streaming and youtube income as well. Neace will play and coach live on stream, and while i dont watch much of the stream, people eat up the live coaching content. Considering AOE2 is way smaller game I could see less of a coaching market but we are older player base and if you are getting good content and good views out of compared to other youtube it could be a cool consistent consistent content option instead of a one time series.

Hera has already done live stream coaching, and is already being paid for coaching. I'm not sure how long he plans to continue it, but to my knowledge there isn't a given end date yet.

Kamp, for the losing your spearmen in the first game, you can set a "Select all military units" hotkey. Selects all military units on the whole map. really helpful to gather army.

What a progress, love this series. Any new coaching kamp coming up?? I noticed that the biggest weakness in many vids is the inaccuracy in evaluating the current state of the game. Am I winning? Am I losing? Of how much? I just started playing and it is so hard. Most of the times you @Hera say we are winning, I think we are losing 100% of the time.

Hey Hera, hope you take this as a compliment, because it's meant to be. Wasn't always a big fan of your content delivery style. But it has really matured lately and I find myself watching a a load of your stuff. Great job man, for me, your content is some of the best out there right now and you are much more patient and respectful when dealing with inexperienced players. I probably don't even rate to offer advice, but a hotkey for select all military would have been good for picking up those Pikemen by the gold that missed the all in knight rush. I've got mine set to ctrl ; Mouse 4 Is not so useful after 60 military, but it would have been clutch right there. I probably would have forgotten to use it though.

You can actually set hotkeys for both all military units I have and all military units I have on screen (although both are limited to 60) which I use all the time because my mouse movements are slow and I forgot where my units are all the time after defending and want to counter attack with everything!

Maybe you guys would try coaching by going through a recorded game and discussing in detail what the player does? That would take away the stress and lead to more discussion between the two of you. Just a suggestion.

how do i apply to get coached. this guy has a lot of potential btw but he forgets to queue units sometimes. like after he hit feudal and build the stable he didn't queue any units when at that stage of the game it's all about being faster than the opponent and every second matters a lot

cool series, little bit of feedback though: students would benefit much greater from your time if you looked at recs. You can skip through the time when you aren't giving them much feedback and also fit in way more games into an hour slot. You are also guaranteed games where they could learn something.

+400 ELO is an insane progress. I think if Hera was coaching me I would only make like 200 ELO progress and then be 1250. Also I don't think I could be any better than 1400 possibly. I know there are players saying "Everyone can be 2000 ELO with enought training.". Yeah, I don't belive in that.

I don'T really understand why people want to be x- ELO. Only if they really want to earn money with it but let's be real, it's as probable as becoming a soccer professional. The rest can just play at their EGO because then they will always have opponents with pretty much the same level and the GAME will be FUN. What's the return if you know this and that build order by heart and get to 400 more ELO but you don't really have fun in playing but only follow your stupid ordeR?!

As you get better at the game, the game feels different. I'm talking FEELING, it's like being in control of something more robust, more powerfull, more adaptable. It's like asking why would people want to play more than 4 chords on a piano, you get to experience different feelings. You also gotta drop the ego to get better actually, as you constantly observe your mistakes and work on your self. Dropping that ego is painful to say the least. But in the end yeah why bother. Check out tribal people's lifestyles on youtube. We're utterly fucked as a species and don't know what the hell is happenning why we're here or if we even have free will so why not waste hundreds of hours grabbing a few elo points. Who cares about friends family work or people suffering that we could help, better learn that men at arms into archers build order

When you are at 1k elo, you would struggle against other 1k elos. When you improve and become 1.2k, you will actually "see" the moves of 1k elo if you play them. They will seem slow to you, because your unit control & decision making is much better. People are just trying to improve at something they love doing, nothing wrong with that. Ignore if you don't wanna improve, dont discourage others please.

I was the equivalent of 900 elo when i first started, didnt play to earn money just played to have fun and wanted to improve out of my competitive nature. 10 years later im consistently 2700 elo rank 1, and earning my livelyhood from the game. Small steps today can change your life tomorrow as cheesy as that might sound
