FLAT-PLANE CRANKSHAFT I don’t like to do that because my traction bar is so close to the jack-point that the jack cup can’t fit on the jack-point so then I have to jack it up on the traction bar, which I don’t like doing because I don’t want to mess up the traction bar. But I will do that if I’m pressed for time and need to jack the car up quickly.

Good video! Pro tip: You can lock your brake rotor by placing a thick screw driver inside the fin of the rotor and have press against the caliper to allow you remove the axel. Also, I noticed you didn’t pinch the axle nut to the axle once it’s install to prevent it from becoming loose. P.s. I thought you had air tools, and if you don’t get them. It’ll make life a lot easier, trust me!
@Aisha_LadyBuilt6 жыл бұрын
i'm JGott thank you for your tips, I know that you can stick the screwdriver through the rotor or you could get someone to step on the brake pedal, personally I have used all of the methods. One time I did the screwdriver method and I lost balance and fell and sliced my ear on my car since the car was jacked up and it was higher off the ground, so that’s why I loosen the nut when it’s still on the ground now lol. And I actually prefer using hand tools. I have a air tools and cordless ratchet and impact drivers. But you have to be careful because you can strip bolts and break bolts with air tools and electric tools. With hand tools I can feel the tension.
@imJGott6 жыл бұрын
Aisha Christian aka aisha_ladybuilt I feel you on the hand tools but I do both mostly now. Power to remove parts and hand tools to tighten, depending on what it is.
@kracksmith4ejm15 жыл бұрын

Not all axle nut are 32mm, jdm are 36mm. You can count the splines to know which ones you have if you did a 5 lug conversion. So 26 spline axle is 32mm and 28 spline axle is 36mm axles.

There’s an easier and safer (for the BJ boot) to separate the lower ball joint from the LCA. It’s also easier to just unbolt the intermediate shaft rather than messing with slamming it back until it locks into the clip.

Just remember the stock axles were the weak point and that why the snapped. Now that you replaced the axles you got rid of that weak point. There is going to be a next weak point hopefully it's not the transmission next. I much have rather just replace an axle because they are cheap and easier to replace then what will come next to break. Just shooting my two cents
