Great review ! Thanks for informing about the keycaps not being standard Ansi layout and sizes. It's gonna be my first mechanical keyboard. I'd like to try modding the spacebar stabilizers and switches. Since I don't know much about custop keyboards, will I have to unscrew everything to be able to put on like durock v2 stabilizers ? U have to unscrew everything including the screws at the back behind the sticker at the bottom. You can't use screw in stabilizers here so make sure you use plate mounted ones

Update. So I thought there was a screw at the back..there wasn't lol. The plate is clipped to the base so it's a bit hard to pull out...but it's manageable. I just painted the case..hopefully I can finish the mod this weekend and upload the video xD

I did a two layer tape mod and replaced the keycaps with double shot pbt. They sound really good after a relatively cheap mod. You should try it out.

Hey guys, I'm going to post a question here to see if anyone can help me. I have a K500W (tri mode) and due to lack of knowledge, I installed the K500 software (wired only) on my notebook. As a result, my K500W lost wireless functions and now behaves like a K500. Does anybody know how to solve this?

Yes. However, it's limited to 3-pin switches. You can't put Gateron or other 5-pin switches on this.

I've been looking to try mechanical keyboards and the multitude of switches scares me to just buy without trying them online, so far you have the most comprehensive information about the keyboards. Especially the KRO and polling rate... After researching switches online, I'm thinking between red or brown switches... I'm looking to game and general use on it... Which one should I pick??

Switches are all a matter of preference. Trying them is the best thing to do for keyboard hobbyists. Reviews can get you as much info about them but they're pretty much all subjective(just like this one). But yeah since you're asking me, I'd say red coz browns feel scratchy. I believe a lot of reviewers would agree to this but again, that's subjective.

Hello, please i need help with this keyboard and here's my issue: The keyboard has two del. keys, one on the main keyboard part(i don't know what to call this section) and the other on the Num. section. Now, the one on the main keyboard part doesn't work as a delete key but the symbols there works when typing so i think the key isn't actually faulty, the second del. key on the Num. section works but only when i have Num. Lock turned off, and this whole process is quite stressful just because i need to delete a file or something. Now, i also figured the PgUp and PgDn button on the main keyboard behaves this way too whereby the symbols work on these keys but they don't actually work when i need them to PgUp and PgDn. Meanwhile, the PgUp and PgDn button on the Num. Section only works when I have Num. Lock turned off too. Please advice me on what to do, thanks a lot.

nope. Gateron copper pins are slightly thicker than usual pins of other switches. But meh, Akko switches are slowly overtaking them in terms of quality and price. People hardly look into Gateron switches these days. There are techniques in making Gateron switches fit on the tighter outemu hotswap sockets but it could prove tidious for those who just want to simply put new switches in their keyboards. Look into Akko Jelly switches. They're much better..I actually built a GMMK pro with Akko jelly black switches..there's a soundtest vid here in this channel :)

It's already modded 2months after I got it. So it's not using the stock switches anymore. It's still being used by my sister at this point with lubed akko lavander switches and a couple of mods like clipped stabilizers, foam and tape mod.

@@satorugodzo uhmmm to make it simpler..108 key sets lack the modifier keys for this keyboard..so you should go for the 115 keys above which should have the modifier keys for the right shift, alt,fn and Ctrl. Hope this helps :)

You will have to use the software to use the macro feature unfortunately. The keyboard does not have an onboard memory to support on-the-fly macro recording.

using the switch puller, hook the prongs underneath the clips on the top and bottom of the switch, then kinda rock 'em out back and forth, gradually increasing force as you do. Just take your time, and you'll do OK.

Honestly the the board is not very friendly for switch removals. I damaged few of my switches but they still work. Just cosmetic damage from what I could tell.

It should work like most USB keyboards. But as far as I know, they do not have a software for Mac and there are no Mac modifier keys that come with the keyboard. So some keys like the windows key will not work right away.
