VH31 is a cracking movement on a Grab And Go watch. No date complication to faff with and accurate even across months. I have three watches with this movement.

I really depend on a date complication so… otherwise I’d go for it. In the U. S. you can order a replacement movement online from Walmart for under $15 so even if it fails after a few years you can fix things with a few watch tools.

The green dial is 2-3 time more expensive idk why , maybe cause it resemble grand Seiko more and is more legible more noticeable, the hands are amazing on this watch ⌚ that's my take on this

with chinese watches you get 2x or even 3x on your money in terms of value ... however I would stay away from Chinese movements... in this case with a seiko movement for 35$ its a no brainer... ask 100 guys and not even 1 will tell you its a sub 100$ watch.

The PD-1734 is another model with the VH31 movement and it looks sort of like a Grand Seiko homage with a "meteorite" dial. Would be great for you to check it out!

Great review and I went for one, my first Ali purchase ever. I certainly don't regret it, lovely watch and tremendous quality. Price considered, in my case £18! I'd say it's ridiculous quality. In fact I'd argue the review is a tad tough on the quality of the bracelet, imho it's very good. Very easy to adjust too. Subscribed to the channel, excellent production value on your videos 👍

I have one in green, definitely a hell of a lot of watch for the money! Agree with the use of loctite. First full day I wore it one of the screws worked loose and the bracelet was a few mm away from coming apart completely.

I've just received mine (a bit late, so another £1 voucher 😊 ). It's frankly astonishing. Taking it out of the box, it's got a surprisingly nice heft. The finishing is good. I agree that the bracelet gaps are too big, but that's about it. All this for £25 plus tax (so just over £30). Wonderful thing.

Got me the green one, threw the bracelet away and have put it on a light brown suede NATO. Yep, the lume is so bad that I asm myself why they even bothered, but apart from that, it's as cheap and cheerful as it gets.

I experimented with a VH31 movement based build a little while ago, but struggled with finding a dial to fit without modifying it. I hope it gets more traction, it's a versatile movement

This is a grand Seiko homage and it’s not lacking character at all. I have the blue and yellow ones. Love both but specially love the yellow one. It has a silky fantastic surface that looks like enamel. A marvelous minimalist watch.

An alternative worth considering is the PD-1734. It is the same price and (as far as I can tell) spec as the 1731 , but it has a meteorite-style dial with gold hands and indices which elevates it a step above again. Jody's biggest criticism of the 1731 is that it is non-descript; the 1734 solves that issue. It comes in blue, white and black dials; I have the blue and as Jody says here it is far better than it has any right to be for the price.

You should review their PD-1783 DD40 homage. I bought a pair with ruby red and ice blue dials for my wife, and she says that Rolex owners have confused them with the real ones. I just bought an indigo blue dial for $70 for myself and I'm waiting for reviews on the gold/green one to decide on whether to buy one too on the next sale event.
