Oh James James James.... Come on man. All the while being teased with DT with DT on vocals - match made in heaven, wish we had that for the past 5 albums. And secondhand Mike doing a soulless version of OG Mike's legendary drum parts. At least Devin's drummer took over for part of it, that gave it some life. Tobin not playing half the tune for some reason. Well that all really fucked with my feelings hahaha.

The guy can sing, but you're right, touring is definitely an issue. I saw them live a year ago in Luxembourg, he sounded very good that night (I was positively surprised actually !), but it was at the beginning of the tour I suppose. Here he sounds terrible.. I feel sad for him, because there's little you can do when you've lost your range with age.. The band could drop the instruments to D or something (like Metallica did to E flat in the nineties)...
@fernandolopes2544 Жыл бұрын
No, they should move on with him like they did to Portnoy and get someone that can actually sing. He adds nothing to DT nowadays. So many talented guys out there.

Respect for LaBrie for what he have done for the DT over the years, but honorable thing to do now would be to face his problems with higher notes and stronger singing. They should adapt the songs so he can keep up with the range. Devin songs amazing, he transforms the song execution from meh to amazing.

Honestly, they should've stuck with Charlie Dominici on vocals. He may not have had the range of a younger LaBrie, but he can still sing every note within his range with power and precision. LaBrie's voice hasn't been on it for nearly 2 decades, so I'm amazed they've lasted as long as they have.

Devin sounds great, a lot of strength and an opera style. But even with the undeniable difficulties that James is having, his voice, for me, has more nuances and transmits more singing, I think that the spirit carries on requires a more melodic way to sing. In heavier songs Devin would surely sound better. I clarify again, it is incredible how Devin sounds. I'm just trying not to take credit away from James. Please do not take offense for my opinion.. Salutes from argentina. Devin, animals and dream...loves you
