I am looking forward to hearing the wonderful and weird questions of this week's mysterious world! Thank you Jimmy for your awesome content. You have inspired me to fully lean into my calling of becoming a teacher and educator, using my talents of learning and storing information to spread knowledge and the Gospel. Thank you Jimmy, and God bless you!

Thanks for a great episode. Since you talk about the Scripture adjacent books you’d like to have I want to say I like your lost Scripture episodes. Hopefully the odes of Solomon will be coming soon.

Actually, if you compare the lengths in Syriac, Paul's letters to churches are in descending order of length. Even Galatians and Ephesians. It's the same order in our Bibles, but different languages word things differently and the length of Ephesians in Syriac is just a little shorter than Galatians in Syriac.

Unrelated but have you ever watched the Netflix documentary about these kids who claimed they were close to Arthur Leigh Allen and that he even admitted to them that he was the Zodiac before he died?

I have a question for Jimmy. Is "legal personhood" the equivalent of the actual reality of personhood, and if those concepts point to different realities, what might be the drawbacks of pursuing the establishment of "legal personhood" rather than or even contrary to actual personhood?

I'm curious about what Non-Biblical books are on Jimmy's list. My top choices are Cicero's Hortensius and St. Theresa's chivalric book that she wrote on her youth.

Another possibility for goin back in time to be in the Bible is that the questioner did just that and is there already. Maybe he is Stephanos or any other persons there.........

Surely by going back into the past you HAVE changed it in some way, just by being there?
@josephj.prioli182320 сағат бұрын
The idea in this model is that you were always there, even the "first" time. So, by traveling back in time, you are merely supplying what the past already called for: namely, a second "you" back there an hour ago.

If future to past travel were possible and will eventually be done, then it’s silly to talk about “not CURRENTLY” having the technology to do so. Someone 400 years from now surely would have visited. If they realize they shouldn’t for [insert reasons], and if everyone agrees, then it almost doesn’t even matter, since nobody ever will do so. (If you defend future-to-past travel and object to my use of “will eventually” then I’d suggest that you’re missing the points) Pizza is divine. If moments of time are like slices of bread or inches on a measuring stick, then people in each inch can say, “we don’t have the technology.” If every inch has the same statement, then nobody has the technology, even at the end of time. If they have the technology, and if they came back at any point and revealed it, people beyond that point would write about it. So, as each “new” moment “passes,” the likelihood goes down. Regarding Bigfoots and black bears, perhaps they overlap in diet and environment preferences!

You have hit upon one of many problems hinted at in this episode. Sometimes intellect gets in the way of faith, and I was rather surprised at Jimmy's response. Why stop at taking a picture of Jesus on the cross to prove his existence? Why not rescue him and bring him with you back to the present? God is not bound by time and space; if there were a means of thwarting God's salvation plan Satan would have come up with it long ago.

I mean, the fact that someone has a particular technology doesn't mean that "we" have it.
@TheProdigalMeowMeowMeowReturnsКүн бұрын
@@jdotozso future persons have the technology but haven’t used it? Are you adding an additional item in your explanation ? Seems non-parsimonious
@TheProdigalMeowMeowMeowReturnsКүн бұрын
@@pcm7315I suppose we couldn’t “rescue” Jesus if his death was ordained or otherwise something that God wants. But I agree with the gist of your comment. 😊
@jdotozКүн бұрын
@@TheProdigalMeowMeowMeowReturns No, it's just a simple fact. Let's say people in a lab build a new device and keep it to themselves. It exists, a few humans have it, but humanity at large doesn't have it. So if someone in the future invents time travel and brings a machine back to today, we in the present can't really be said to have time travel unless he shares it with us somehow.
