These developers ignored the most important rule of real estate speculation: Location. You can build the nicest house in the world but if it is in the middle of nowhere no one will buy it.
@javasoccernutАй бұрын
By the looks of what they tried to do in the house is it seems they were just trying to barf out designs as my wife would say versus just a nice house that's big and easy to take care of
@rpnp2Ай бұрын
I think that rule only holds true if you are looking already established communities. I worked for a track housing developer back in early 2000's prior to the 08 crash, and you would be surprised how many gated communities were built in the middle of nowhere and now in 2024 i drive by them and there's starbucks and targets around the corner. I don't know about this location, but in other counties in california they were given massive incentive cuts to developers to build in the area.

It takes really ugly, unintelligent, undisciplined people to destroy property that they don’t own as they’ve done with these homes. I would have been great if they all would have been caught and had to pay for the damage with a bit of jail time and community service. It’s truly a sad sight.

This could have potentially been a really beautiful community, unfortunately 2008 was a very bad year for spec homes. I wonder how much the developers and banks actually lost, they might have pushed the loss to their current clients or perhaps went bankrupt. It's a shame to see this. Great video Adam.😊

What a shame, would have made lovely homes. I'm surprised the see the 6th house under renovations as this whole site would have been an insurance write off for the original builder/contractor. Also makes me wonder if the original builders were the ones who and 'removed' much of the useful materials BEFORE the vandalism ... who knows. I must say for 16 years they seem to still be in decent condition bar the vandalism. I agree it's a massive shame so much time effort and materials wasted, complete houses and maybe a landing strip and this would have been ideal. Anyhoo great content as usual mate, looking forward to next week.

Thank you for taking us along . Not only can you showcase completed homes well , but also abandoned ones. If you have a chance , update us what is going on in this area . Maybe snag an interview with the owners of the land ? You should do some more videos like this one . Ghost towns as well . Thank you , stay safe !

In the last house the reason for the plugs in the floor that would have been the kitchen. It wasn't a stud wall, but for the bar. Plugs probably for garbage disposal, dishwasher. Also on the ones that you showed the smaller kitchens were more like office, extra bedrooms. The kitchens on those would have been near the living rooms.

Amazing! early 2000 Mc mansions built with real bricks. A lot of these things were built with fake foam bricks and fake pillars back then. By the time they hit 10 years old that stuff started falling apart. I guess the environment, made it impossible to use foam. They probably wouldn't have made it 10 years.

Awesome video mate 👍 bloody ridiculous that companies can afford to build properties like this and then walk away due to lack of finance and just let me be destroyed! They could of called the local homeless shelter and simply said “we’re not using them, crack on and have them”
@nanoflower1Ай бұрын
Looks like it is far from any sort of civilization. So no food/water/electricity and so not a good spot for a homeless person to live in since they also lack the transport needed to get food/water. Shame though as they were decent homes that shouldn't have been left to be trashed.

@@AdamSwords Probably they were depending upon building up enough of an infrastructure to help drive traffic to the area. Much like some of the malls I've seen built far away from the populated areas but they were big enough and they built up enough other stores/restaurants around the malls to drive the traffic that then justified the location.

So you kept saying front dinning areas and studies were kitchens but early 2000s home design, the kitchen is literally part of living rooms. Its the areas closest to the garage where the wall was completely torn out on every house. Probably because of all piping in the wall for the sink, dishwasher, etc.
