I absolutely LOVE this home, Enes! So many of the houses that you showcase, while being huge and beautiful, seem rather cold and hotel-like. They are so extravagant that they don't feel like a home. THIS house looks and feels like a home and while beautiful and elegant, it looks homey, comfortable and you can just tell that the owners are real, down to earth people. I loved that you included the commentary by the owner. As a mid-westerner from Wisconsin, I identified so much with his down to earth attitude and demeanor; you can just tell that he's a "regular guy". When he was speaking about himself and his wife and said that they started with nothing, I can believe it because the home reflects comfortable elegance without being overly, wastefully extravagant for the sake of extravagance. The design of the decor doesn't scream "look at how wealthy and important we are"; it says, "welcome to our home, come on in and join us"! I loved everything about this video and this home and I'd bet if you joined these owners for cocktails and conversation, you'd find them to be warm, down to earth, regular folks just enjoying their friends and the fruits of their labor! I wish them all the best in their lovely home on the water :)

This house strikes a great balance between contemporary design and feeling comfortable. There are lots of interesting features and textures that never feel out of place or gaudy (except maybe the powder room and carbon fiber bathtub). Too often, contemporary CA homes feel sterile and office-like. This is a house I could see myself living in.

@@DaveP-uv1ml I agree with some of your points but I wouldn't say we don't have insects around here. I have never lived in Newport Beach but I've stayed there for days and weeks at a time, in the Newport Coast hillside area. Huge sliding glass doors are really nice but insects will come around (nothing close to as bad as FL). There is also an issue with mice in the hills. I lived in a 12,000 sqft Malibu house on Point Dume, Malibu for years (wasn't owned by me). Just over an acre for each lot on that street but the homes were mostly side-by-side. Something I notice is often overlooked by people in the comments of these videos is the fact that we're talking about very big homes. It's like a football field next to another football field. If you're in the middle of your football field, people in the middle of the other football field are not going to hear a thing. The videos don't do justice to the real-life feel of very large homes. When you're there on the ground, walking around the backyard, it doesn't feel as close as it appears to be in these videos.

I know it’s common for people to assume wealthy people in big homes are all unhappy. Definitely not always true. Money and material possessions only serve to enhance what’s already there or what would be left if the money was gone.

Yep, told my wife- look, you have 105 ft of no privacy, and plenty of spots for people to jump from their boat to your house. Very few homes shown on these channels have the privacy I'd want if I was rich. I'd need enough land and trees that you couldn't see anything within 100 ft of my house so I could be outside and still always be private. Even the drive up to the house, I wouldn't want anyone seeing into the house, or into any outside space that I'd be hanging out in.😄

Absolutely incredible home and fantastic tour. Generally I don't like properties that start off with a smaller space because of how cramped it feels, but having the vegetation either side and no ceiling makes the space feel much more open and the wider space you move into that much more enjoyable.
