I had be transported in one of these once for a mental health crisis. I was 18 and it was scary as hell. I was going to another hospital, not jail.

It's really not lol. When the van is on and doors shut the lights come on and there are air vents.

@@Unknown_Ooh you must of been in a fancy one. It was dark. There were sand paper feet on the floor and a lap belt only. I traveled in handcuffs. I was surrounded by metal. There was an opening near the front of the van but it was covered with a grate. I could see the officers driving and a little of where we were going outside. There was only enough room for your legs and then another metal wall. I was in there on my side with another woman going to the same hospital that had mental health beds open. They picked up an inmate on the way and he was in the other side.

Bro it’s hella small. I was 5’9” 165 and my knees were up against the wall. They had 4 people on each side and it was summer so it was hotter than hell. It sucked so bad. Claustrophobic feeling through the roof.

Idea for a prisoner transport van: 1. The back has no windows, just lights so the prisoners riding get some light still. 2. Exit doors are located in the back where the seats are so the drivers are safe. 3. Exit door can only be opened from outside and is heavily locked. 4. Steel vehicle body. 5. driver is separated from prisoners by a thick steel wall for secure protection for driver and guards. 6. Cameras added in the seat row.

In the eighties, a Chev astro van transport lost a driveline. It went thru the gas tank and caused the van to burst into flame. The guards could only watch as all the prisoners cooked and screamed untill dead.

They did it by Driving Like The Idiots They are, And Throwing Freddie Gray Around in The Back Of That Van... Freddie Gray being Unable to Brace Himself because his Hands and Legs were Shackled?
