Lagos has the potential to look like Singapore or any East Asian developed city, but due to indiscipline, bad city planning, and bad governance, we are here behind east African top cities. But Abuja is just different. I grew up in Abuja from 2002 to 2009, and now I'm living in China, the mecca of modern infrastructure. China is so developed that Dubai looks like a normal city compared to top-tier Chinese cities. Even Americans are in a wow when they come to China. But one thing I can tell you is that despite me seeing the world, Abuja is still something that I can't overlook, Abuja is just a very beautiful city, and if they continue to build the roads, railways, metros... in 7 years, Abuja will be able to be classified as a world standard top city. But overall, Nigeria played too much. It was supposed to reach the South Korean level of development by now.

We have a long way to go in Nigeria (I'm not a hater) If you know anything about city planning, landscaping and architecture you would know abuja is trash. Not to disparage or downgrade Abuja in any way, i mean compared to literally anywhere in Nigeria Abuja is like a messiah and this is caused by the lack of development and ignorance in and among Nigerians as a whole, all in all the hype around Abuja is just to much, just like calling lagos the commercial capital of Africa is just absurd when the richest square mile is in Johannesburg SA, Lagos does not compare or compete with any city in Southern Africa in terms of development or education yet Nigerians overlook that. I love my country and only want the best for it, if we want Nigeria to compete on the world stage a lot of work has to be done in a very short time and remember the longer this politicians continue to rule Nigeria the more difficult it will get to achieve these things as they will only continue to damage.

Abuja is one of the detailed and carefully plan cities in Africa, which can stand toe to toe with any cities in the world. You may argue about the pace of development due to successive Govt not adhering to some city plans but it still stand as one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. Jo’burg, Capetown and a few cities in Africa are beautiful but you can’t just write Abuja off saying is trash.
