I’ve lived in Denver for ten years, it has gone downhill SO fast in the last 4 years. I moved to the suburbs and rarely go downtown anymore because of how sketchy the streets can get. My car has been broken into, motorcycle almost stolen, people walking out into traffic with no idea where they are. This has to stop. Thank you for bringing some light onto this Tommy

It's the new norm in all the western and west coast cities. I'm way up in deep NorCal now cause I can't deal with the cities anymore. San Fran,Sacramento,San Diego,L.A are all just off the hook now. Esp San Fran. I have been mostly left leaning my entire life and over the last 10 years I've found myself turning more and more conservative. These left leaning policies have destroyed the big cities in the west and it's getting worse and worse every day.

Born and raised in Denver and it’s safe to say it’s definitely changed a lot. During and right after Covid everything has gone downhill. What’s crazy is that in these low income areas they are building new houses that go for 600k-1mil+. Rent is absurd anywhere you go. Typical 1 bed in Denver is $1,800+ a month. Even in the suburbs is the surrounding area its not much better.

I've lived in Colorado for 25 years, let me say. Legalizing cannabis was the worst decision we ever made. I love it, use it more than I should but that opened the flood gates. I think the political game in the US is dumb but liberals absolutely destroyed this state. The mass exodus from NY & LA bringing the same stupid ass policies, their insane amounts of money that flooded the housing market seemingly overnight. You used to be able to rent a 4 bedroom house here for $1200 a month, today that it is a $5000 home Colorado is no longer an option for me to live in, now with a wife and children soon. There is no shot I am staying, Colorado blows now The irony is always top tier when the left calls people out for colonizing and destroying homes, yet everywhere they go, they do the exact same thing

Lived in Denver my whole life and had move out of state last year. It got so bad and so expensive. I was working at a gas station and I had homeless that would sit outside all day and wait for me to get off work and try to follow me home. I usually walked to work. I took a video of my daughter at the park and next to the equipment was a guy sleeping and rolling around everywhere in the dirt... with kids running around him. It's really bad. I'm glad we left.

Been here my whole life... It used to just be the common areas you know Colfax, 5 points, Commerce City, Aurora haha stuff like that. Its now pretty much anywhere you go. I'm up north of Denver in Westminster and its just as bad as anywhere in Denver. People zombie standing outside Safeway, laying on the sidewalk, pushing carts as big as my car with tent houses set up at RTD stops, needles, and shit in parking lots a kid could grab or hell you could fall on or touch on accident. Its even starting to get the people walking up to your cars at lights blocking the road, tweaking, screaming at you. It literally reminds me of all the time I spent in Vegas. Its just as sketchy it feels. It just keeps going down hill throw in the astronomical prices and its bizzarro world.

I think we need to model the way that Amsterdam deals with their drug issues. Tyler Olivera did a video in Amsterdam and Portugal about their programs and the process for a drug addict and they look at it like a health crisis, not a criminal one. They provide the drugs for the addicts so they aren't running the streets doing things to get it(medical grade heroin isn't dangerous like street heroin is), they house them and once they aren't worried about chasing their next high they can focus on getting better. I think its a brilliant idea. As far as they said they don't have many NEW addicts coming in, most of the addicts are older who have been addicts since the 80s.
@tranquil147383 ай бұрын
I’ll have to check this out. I’ve always felt like this shouldn’t be a criminalization issue. Portland decriminalized drugs and it just got so much worse, so evidently we aren’t doing it right when we try and decriminalize
@EluvietteNikki3 ай бұрын
@@tranquil14738 there are pieces of the puzzle missing in portland. There still needs to be work put in to house them, get them help and offer them programs, we need to get a program where we can provide the drugs safely so they aren't taking fent or stealing or selling their body. can you imagine how much crime would lessen if everyone got their drugs on a daily basis and didn't have to worry? Less overdoses from people getting crazy shit off the street. I think it would be a drastic difference. Its a great video and really shows how amazing these countries have dealt with it.
@shack123193 ай бұрын
The problem is in america people have the right to refuse help if they decide they don't want it, in Europe if they found you on the streets using drugs they basically forced you into this type of program, they obviously did it in a ethical and common sense way but I think something similar would be really hard to enact in the US, imo it is the solution but good luck getting every1 on board with how bad the liberal cities have fucked up since covid
@theaccountant58463 ай бұрын
@tranquil14738 that's the problem, decriminalization doesn't work alone, it needs to be supported with mental health and rehabilitation services but obviously that would have been more expensive which is why the government is probably reluctant even though It probably costs more in the long run in terms of regular health care and incarceration
