The female relative has an issue with Laura Black!?! When it began Laura was a 22 yo intern in a 90% male field, across the country from family, at a time when states and employers didn't recognize stalking and barely sexual harassment. She moved. She did go to HR. Short of letting her stalker (who knew all her family's locations) chase her out of job and California, what else could she have done?

Even if Richard Farley did whatever he could have done to become appealing - started taking speech classes, changed his hairstyle, dressed in trendier (for that time) clothing, lost weight, etc., he would still be the same Richard Farley, and Laura still would not want to become romantically involved with him. It's one's CHARACTER that appeals to another person. I'm sure there were millions of other women besides Black who would have been happy to begin a partnership with Farley. (I'm not sure what happened between Farley and the other woman he _was_ dating; I'm guessing he probably wasn't happy. He was fixated on Black, and, to him, no one else mattered.) The bottom line remains, no means no. Farley threw away his career, and therefore, his life for a woman he couldn't have. He killed seven people, wounded four (including Black), and held ESL in a stand-off for five hours. And now he's on death row. Too bad. _(10/14/2023)_

Laura Black had every right to get a restraining order against Richard Farley. The company was at fault because, although he threatened to shoot the employee resource management people, they didn't report it to law enforcement. Additionally the restaurateur didn't report Richard Farley breaking into the women's restroom and attacking Laura Black. Both would have resulted in Richard Farley being arrested and not being allowed guns. Additionally right after RF was fired from ESL he was asking other people about the glass in the entrance door; what it was made of. He was clearly considering doing this well before the restraining order.

And who does Richard Farley have to blame for him being on death row in San Quentin? Himself. The fact that Laura's information was given out to him had absolutely nothing to do with what happened. Nothing would have stopped this misfit from killing, no matter how many complaints to the police and HR. of the company, he would have done what he did, however, a restraining order could have been used to warn everyone of this crazy man. Although I still don't think there was much done, the action as such of a restraining order shows a warning sign that should always be taken, this shows how women need guidance from a young age to understand that these things are not normal and that they are not You should tolerate these behaviors, it is not okay to be harassed, but I understand that many women, including me. Before, a few years ago, we did not understand that and we thought that these behaviors were normal. Before we were very naive and we didn't think that it could get worse, now with these types of movies and similar events we understand it, and also as Lora says in the interview: we must take action, we must educate our young people, whether male or female. to take timely action against harassment

There's alot of crazy people in this world and some people don't understand the word no. He stalked her , shot people . Did she say oh stalk me or oh go ahead and shoot people no she didn't. So for those that r blaming her shut up and get a life .

I suspect that when they reviewed the case, they found that she was not necessarily responsible for the murders but behaved in a way that provoked anger. That's the only reason they haven't carried out the death penalty on him 36 years later because I think if she was completely innocent, he would have been killed by now.

There is something strange about her that i noticed directly when i saw her in the clip. There were 7 people who lost their life! her colleagues and she is sitting there and smirking while she talk about this. I dont want to judge but my theory is that she flirted with richard in the beginning and playing mind games to get attention/validation and then rejected him when he asked her out. And then did this a few more times but stopped when she realized she did it to the wrong person after maybe a month or two of knowing him she started to play innocent. Even the older woman in the video critizise her insinuating she liked attention.

No. She has every right to smile and see it almost as a twisted fcked up story. She did her part, SEVERAL times and NO ONE took it seriously. I'm sure she feels sorry for those who lost their lives but it wouldn't surprise me if it was one of those things that you can't help but Crack a smile at. Like "Yeah, I survived that. I told everyone he was crazy they didn't listen to me.😄" it sounds more cold and heartless when typed but I can understand it.

You’re misreading their grief as blaming. Four years IS a very long time to tolerate stalking and threats and EVERYONE knew about it. No one cared enough about her as a person or respected her absolute right to be free of unwanted attentions on the job and in the community. She says it wasn’t against thelaw at the time! Well neither was slavery in the mid 19th century but I’d still be picking cotton under the lash had there been no abolitionists and no runaways: no fighting back against an obscene injustice! Ladies, better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. And to continue to work at a place of death and carelessness bordering on collusion - that I find pathological. I am not sad to say it but until women weaponize against people who threaten their lives, we will continue as victims, potential victims and living in constant fear. So stop the shaming of the families of those who were murdered because of the failure of the community and the law to respect and protect a woman’s human rights from a sociopath. I see cowardice here on the part of many and pro male bias that tolerates if not totally encourages violence against women. For instance. A woman named Melissa Alexander was being threatened and harassed by her ex husband. She weaponized, fired a warning shot when he invaded her home. For that, brandishing a weapon she was sentenced to ten years in a Florida prison. It took nearly half those years to have that idiotic sentence overturned. Terrible outcome for her. But she is not dead and her children, too are alive. And the perpetrator wasn’t even wounded. Clearly there is a perception that women do not have the right to defend themselves as men do, standing their ground and what not. And evidently, many women believe that as well. I say do not do what Laura did: Nothing. Too little . Too late. Sorry for her is an Inane and irrelevant question that serves no purpose but sensationalism. What have we learned; what’s the takeaway, what could everyone involved have done differently ⁉️ Take action at the risk of the wrong action - take action. Stay alive to sort out that which could have been done better. The first law is self preservation.

Stop shaming the families?! Their blaming a harassed woman from a man who wouldn’t take NO. He made her life miserable. Shame on them! She “tolerated”. SMDH. The poor woman has to change her address 4x while working under duress from this sicko. Why should she have to quit her dream job and move because this guy can’t behave like a man?
@carpentershub1726
@carpentershub1726 Жыл бұрын
Actually the fact Laura was able to “tolerate” such inappropriate and unjust behaviour shows how strong she was at a time stalking was not against the law. If she had backed down, the stalking would have ended earlier. She did not tolerate the stalking for four years; she stood up to it to in the best way she could and unfortunately, she had to endure being stalked for four years until it finally ended by her being shot.
