The thing I always find amazing about flying is how you can be experiencing a completely different part of the world within mere hours (especially if you include time zone differences!), I always find the flight back home slightly depressing for that reason...back to reality!

Just Love that Gulf Air color scheme- with bold black letters & gold. Man, it looks hot! Close to my favorite along with Air Greenlands. If you hark back to the 70s & 80s they had L1011s & these were the coolest looking Tristars, along with Deltas.

I used to use Gulf Air a lot in the 80s between London, Bahrain, Dhahran, and Bangkok and was always impressed with the service. I remember one flight from Bangkok to Bahrain where I had the economy cabin pretty much to myself until we made a stop in Dhaka and it filled up with contract workers heading to the Gulf. After take off, the crew handed out juice, but when I asked for whisky instead, half the cabin turned round to stare at me. Happy days!

The building on the amenity kit is a mosque I believe. As for eau de toilette is in between perfume and colonge in French saying "Faire la toilette" meaning looking into the mirror and making sure you look good, for women it usually means putting make up... so yea that's where it comes from. :) great video

I flew Gulf Air Falcon Gold (Business Class) a few years ago from London to Bahrain and then on to Dubai. Excellent service throughout. Particularly liked their Sky Chef who served everything as you asked for it. Including a coffee 20 minutes from landing - when I asked BA for the same in Club World they told me no and I could have it 50 minutes from landing. A little thing but both those different service standards have stuck with me over those 3 to 4 years.

Up until a month ago viewing one of your other videos I had no idea you could fly like that. Personally, I can barely stand more than three hours cramped up on a jet. First class has always looked the pretty much the same as everything else to me. Which is kinda cool, you can meet people you otherwise wouldn't. If I ever fly abroad or get a good deal on a longer flight than usual I'm definitely trying that. Personally I enjoy getting on the smallest plane possible just for the solo window seats and room to relax.

Hey mate...another cool bid well done and interesting to find out that visiting Iraq is such an issue for future adventures. Just quickly, and I'm not having a go, but: Eau de toilette (French: [o d(ə) twalɛt], meaning "grooming water")[n 1] is a lightly scented cologne.[2] It is also referred to as aromatic waters and has a high alcohol content.[3] It is usually applied directly to the skin after bathing or shaving.[4][5] It is traditionally composed of alcohol and various volatile oils.[6] Traditionally these products were named after a principal ingredient; some being geranium water, lavender water, lilac water, violet water, spirit of myrcia and 'eau de Bretfeld'.[7] Because of this, eau de toilette was sometimes referred to as "toilet water".[8]
