It’s the Barefoot Contessa herself, Ina Garten! Follow along as she gives us a tour of her East Hampton, N.Y. kitchen (a.k.a. her office). What are Ina’s favorite things? Handy spoons, butcher blocks, three types of salt and - wait for it - a jar of homemade vanilla extract that she’s been adding to for 35 years. That’s dedication.
To make vanilla extract at home, fill a jar with vanilla beans and vodka, let sit for four to six months, “and you’ve got vanilla extract forever.”

Google what a Gerund is. It's the possessive form of a verb, preceding a verb, aka, my running, his walking, her mandating, the dog's walking versus the dog WAS walking, etc. Ugh. No wonder why the US is so far behind, academically speaking.

Her team denied the request without consulting her first, and when she found out about it via the insane media backlash she personally reached out to right the wrong, but the boy had already received a different Wish from the foundation. The boy's mother has even been vehemently against all the backlash on social media and in the news, because her boy still loves Ina and the family holds no ill will against her. @@oliviavotaw you don’t need to use vanilla beans with seeds in them. That means that every time you use a vanilla bean in a recipe, you can throw the pod which would normally go in the garbage, into the jar. Same here. I made a batch last year with bourbon and Tahitian vanilla beans; now I added some Madagascar to the batch to add more flavor. I almost wonder if her vanilla develops a ‘mother’ type of quality after that long...

Yep. Everyone needs a pantry like that. It’s better to have than to deal with those small cabinets and everything just going into pure chaos and you can’t find what you’re looking for. Its hard to find kitchens like that so it’s better to build your own and design it the way you want it.

I am so sad to see everyone bashing her here. She worked hard for what she has and she still worked during the pandemic. Her barn is her “office” and if she has the space and luxury for it, she should. Let’s all be respectful and take inspiration from her cooking, which is easy and her work ethic which is again inspirational. Why are the “haters” watching her anyway here?
