I went to the dominican republic after a typhoon, and let me tell you, it was one of my favorite vacations ever. To start we didnt even go to punta cana or any of those gaijin / gringo honeypots, so we were already expecting something low key. Turns out all the hotel fronts were destroyed and there was no one (we rented a house with the locals), we had all the beach for us, white sand, quiet, all for us.

These alarms must be running something like an emergency powergrid separate from the hotel lines with their own source
@drumstick74
@drumstick74 6 ай бұрын
Yes! I wonder a lot about that!🤔 Perhaps it is running on very good batteries (lasting 18 years) or as wdl2499 says, it has a seperate power grid. --Which in itself is also odd, why would they deem that necessary? *Edit:* A user commented: "The tune is called Yuuyake Koyake. It's a popular children song which is used as a signal meaning that Japanese children finish school and go home." The mystery deepens!
@wdl2499
@wdl2499 6 ай бұрын
@drumstick74 hi! I'm pretty sure this music alarm also acts as an emergency alarm. It's Japan, so they must have came up with separate power grids in case of earthquake or other catastrophe damaging the main lines and the emergency ones being independent, so it would continue its work. Great stuff!

Many abandoned hotels here in Japan are famous for the occurrence of "strange phenomena" and "ghosts"... The disappearance and tragic end of the owners and related people... Or the tragic end of ordinary people... There are quite a few properties where something like that has actually happened... Also, on a different note, there are cases where foreigners who visit Japan suddenly disappear. They don't tell anyone where they're going, they leave their luggage behind, they sneak out of their accommodation alone and go missing, or they disappear while walking in the mountains or on the beach. And there are many cases where even a large-scale search involving their families doesn't find any traces or clues. Foreigners who have no troubles in life, have clear dreams and goals, and are expected to do well by those around them suddenly disappear mysteriously... 🥶

it's crazy that they have these crazy things in Japan like the suicide forest whilst being one of the best places on earth

Yeah, I think Japanese tourists come to my home country: Finland, to get away from the suicide forests. Here everybody just off themselves in the privacy of their own barn.

The hotel and overgrown bushes kept giving me "The Last of Us" vibes haha. I enjoyed the hotel tour though.

It's odd thing that when you are in ancient outdoors where no one's been in ages, like a forest you often feel as if you are connected to it, you feel harmony and you feel at ease.. In built area, if it's been abandoned for a month it's eerie, cold, scary, unnerving...

13:15 Abandoned hotels are creepy AF. I would be scared too! For abandoned and completely desolate destinations, the random sounds in the background are terrifying lol

39:30 Japan has experienced a prolonged period of low inflation and deflation over the past 25 years, often referred to as the "lost decades." probably explains the prices.

39:30 Wanna bet the prices are only consistent with todays prices on the sodas because the machine is located inside a luxury resort where people are bound to pay more for basic things? Because I bet that is why those prices are similar.

Those places get hard by bad weather and no one comes to repair anything. Once windows break humidity and water gets in and goes to shit fast.
