I think it depends on the addict. Some addicts are horrible people with or without drugs and deserve to be criticized, so I would have no problem calling certain people junkies or scumbags, but it has nothing to do with their drug use, it has do with their behavior. You have certain people who use drugs daily, but they and never bother anyone or commit any crimes really. Even certain ones that don't work are still decent enough not to bother anyone. I used for 12 years straight daily multiple drugs, and am 7 years clean now with a beautiful home and family living a life that i'm really enjoying, but I never bothered any strangers when using, other than my family a couple times unfortunately when I had no money. I did steal 40 or 50 bucks a few times from my parents and from my brother twice as well, which is horrendous but they got paid back more than enough today. I knew some addicts that would steal from anyone and everyone. People who broke into houses or would put guns to people for 20 bucks, and sometimes those people were innocent and they didn't know them. I was a worst addict than a lot of these people, but was a decent enough person to never ever consider anything like that. Addicts like that have NO ONE, because they burn EVERYONE they come across, and those people are complete junkies and scumbags. I have no sympathy for that behavior, and drugs are not even close to an excuse for doing things like that for those loser junkies. Even if they get clean they're still going to be pieces of garbage behind it all, that's a fact. They will be better than before obviously since they won't constantly need money, but still scum. Good people just don't do or think of things like that even with the worst addictions. There were many times I was dope sick for 5 6 days in a row with no money in complete torture and agony, but I wasn't even considering doing things like on any level, as I would never hurt or rob someone for money. Sorry this was very long, but I have strong opinions on this. Most addicts are not on this level though, so it's not likely I would look at people like this. I'm not talking about boosting or things like that. I'm rooting for people to get clean and improve their lives, and they could do that with effort.

Antoine was part of the 1st video I ever watched on this channel back in 2017. Same time I had a girlfriend starting to run around down there. It was like entering the gates of hell. That's when I found this channel. Antoine video, I still will never forget. I watched over the years as Antoine wanted to, but could not get out of situation. Same thing with Shake. Met him years later on this channel. Also can't give up the drugs. As far as Lindsay goes. Same thing. Since 2017 she has been in and out of Muncy prison 4 times. I couldn't, and didn't save her. Shes alive somewhere. Until she dies or goes back to Muncy. There are no good endings to these stories. God bless them all.

Hey Frank, was down there today with the group I volunteer with. Out the corner of my eye I thought I saw a Sharon.. I hope she isn’t back down there. So funny, anytime these certain individuals cross my mind because I haven’t seen them in a while, they pop up. Like here in this video with Shake and Antoine. Even others when I go down there to volunteer. Thank you for what you’re doing. The little difference we can make in their lives by having a conversation and making them feel recognized is so important.

I used to go to Kensington growing up jn th 80s. My cousins lived there. My aunt was a nurse and her husband worked for the newspaper and was a raging alcoholic. They were kinda working class and white trash at th same time. Everybody out there was. They all worked so hard but it was like you just couldn't catch a break. The huaband died fairly yong of a heart attack, as the hard working hard drinking bastards of my father's generation often did. That's when my aunt decided to try her hand at being a raging alcoholic- why not- all those years as a nurse got her nowhere. They had 3 kids, 2 girls and a boy. The boy wouldve been 46, like me, but he od'd about 5 years back. It's hard to imagine sitting here watching this, then seeing him slumped over on some corner eternally nodding off on KZbin. It's so weird, I find myself wondering what happened to their house. They lived in that house my entire childhood and well into my teens- last time I was there I was around 16 I guess. Im sure they dont have it anymore- but who tf buys a house in Kensington now? Anyone who grew up around here, loved it or hated it- it's enough to bring tears to your eyes. You just know it'll never be the same.

This breaks my heart that we as a country & human beings have ignored these people for so long, who are suffering & just need someone to say to them, "Hey, are you ok or do you need any help?" Politicians have cut services that may help some of these folks. Even if we as a society can help one person who is suffering, that is huge. Save 1 of these souls at a time. This addiction does not discriminate and can happen to anyone. I plan to try to stop cold turkey soon. If I'm not successful I will go back on methadone or subboxone it's far batter than risking your life spending all your money destroying relationships and all the other bull shit that comes with using. I cant imagine how hard it must be for you. I am terribly addicted to cannabis (I know its not as bad but it ruined SO MUCH for me)., and I struggle so much to quit. I hope you get better like me.

I see these people and wonder what happened in their lives … then I realize, I was very close to becoming one of these lost souls. With a meth habit that should of killed me, I know had it been later in life I would have been dead once they started putting fentanyl in everything. Luckily I got clean before that happened. I have lost a beautiful 22 year old granddaughter almost 2 years ago to fentanyl. 22 years ago, it could of been me. I pray for these people and I ask God to keep you safe out on the streets of Kensington.

It's heartbreaking to see what has happened to the beautiful people and neighborhoods of my city. Mans' inhumanity to his fellow man. Money over humanity. It's a disgrace. 💔 As usual in this country, the people have to help each other. Our government only helps themselves. It's disgusting.

When everyone else is the reason you get into it with them everywhere you go and you say you have to cut your mom off. Its the other way around bro. It's not everyone else shake. It's you. Arrogance .. Alot of those people are out there from bad circumstances and are good people and alot are no good thieves who argue with people liie and take 0 accountability.

Excuse my ignorance, but why is this allowed? is it fair to the residents, especially children, to witness unthinkable crime, open drug use and dealings, dirty needles on the street. I’m not trying to sound insensitive, but if these addicts are provided with hot meals, clothing, housing, aren’t we enabling their addiction even more? My brother had a drug addiction, which ultimately played apart in his death so perhaps I am being heartless and I apologize. I just feel like they will never reach their rock bottom if there will be no repercussions for their actions. I’m just trying to understand. The same behavior is going on in Portland, Or. I lived there in the 90s and it was literally the nicest, cleanest, well kept city I have ever visited. Yes, the youth homeless population was some of the highest in the nation, but open drug use was not tolerated. I’m just confused by how this environment is helping these folks.

Of course, this situation is not helping anyone. But it is not meant to help anyone. I think it is a sign that politicians, the community, the people in power or with power don't care. This is possibly the cheapest option. I don't think you are being heartless, I think you are asking a very legitimate question. How is this possible? How can the richest country on earth have so many of its citizens living in the most appalling conditions? I think that is rock bottom. It is the most dehumanizing thing there is.
