The goal of Buddhism is to achieve nirvana and escape samsara. Samsara is the cycle of reincarnation, literally translated as "the wheel". Once you become fully enlightened you escape the cycle of death and birth to transcend all the pain and suffering that comes with it. There are exceptions, namely bodhisattvas who instead of dissipating into the universe, dedicate their soul to helping and protecting others. If this at all interests you, I would encourage you to explore Buddhism, starting with understanding the eightfold path. I think it would benefit everyone regardless of background@@_west33...

@AndyNC Жыл бұрын
@@LG-dj9qr Yes. I like it in my own house more minimal, but always in a mix with new and old. Every piece of furniture has a story, but I want them to be noticeable... not crowded. I know what you mean, and it's probably because the apartment is not very big (maybe big for NYC} and over the years you accumulate a lot of sentimental stuff. The kitchen design is some visual overkill for my taste and it looks like there is no natural light, but again... I rather like it very personal than neutral staged with a designer.

@@hellobecky84 I don't think prints will do cloisonne justice, because of the way they are made, in Tibet they use aluminium sheet as base, then copper wires are shaped and glued to the sheet, then the gaps are filled with enamel and some natural powders are added to the enamel to make it pop.. in other cloisonne paintings, colored powder is glued then poured over with clear lacquer, cloisonne painting is also used on some very expensive watches.. I think the real beauty of cloisonne comes out because of the copper wires that acts as a margin between 2 colors, this is what makes the painting alive, and that is why a print version won't do it justice.. Just search for the video ' Tibet cloisonne ', you'll see that the painting comes alive once light hits the painting..

I love the space because it is a representation of the people that live there. Most places nowadays look like an instagram post and boring.

The shrine room is stunning. The rest of the apartment has a set design vibe which is cool. A lot of rich layering.

What surprising depth he has! This was a wonderful embrace of he and his wife's calm interior lives, mirrored in this thoughtful home. So sad that the cameraperson had never heard of Dante!!!!

I teach college physics and astronomy. Every once in a while a history of science topic will touch upon the influence of a non-scientist like Dante, Voltaire, Mary Shelley or George Orwell; I usually get blank stares. I've learned to expect It but the cultural illiteracy of my students still saddens me.

Gotta love that such a prestigious actor is still down to earht enough to drink Cafe bustello coffee and watch American Dad. Also amazing guitar taste with the Fender Competition Mustang
