Axle Twister RC

This is only to give you ideas. Your TF2 may be setup better than mine. This is just the route I took and I absolutely love this rig. I am not a big fan of the Hobbywing Axe setup but it works good in this rig. I also wish the newer BRX90 Boom Axles was out when I did the axle swap.
Please check out #DixielandRC #RCADDICT and #Darksides3DPrinting for all your needs.
For TF2 Performance parts #AandMGarage is amazing and a must for performance.

• Boomracing BRBD955003F intermediate shaft(needs 3mm removed for fitment) other option is BRBD955003H but this option will not work with the OD T-Case flip.
☆ If I was to do the build now I wouldn't likely use Boom Racing BRX90 axles. This would eliminate the need for JEC Mounts.

I just ordered a Marlin Crawler so I’m trying to find out as much as I can on how to improve its performance. My only other hard body is a C2X so it cheats with the link suspension. Thanks for any info you can share. I’m definitely scribed to your channel now.

Love your vids, they really have been the most helpful in regards to modding the TF2. I just picked up a marlin, and was interested in your thoughts on the zbox and revolver shackle setups. Very interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks!

Hello David, First off thanks for the feedback on the videos. My thoughts on the zbox and revolver shackles is it just isn't my thing. Please only take this as my personal perspective. It is important that you do as you want and what you would enjoy. I never want to say only 1 way should be done. No right or wrong exits in with these tiny trucks until we get into backwards wiringof electronics etc. One main reason why I don't get into them is im just not into flex as all. I like a well planted and predictable truck. Equal to that reason is I also like to beat the hell out of my truck and using the mentioned parts can add the opportunity for failure in a increase of broken leaf springs as well as the option parts themselves. Please make your rig your own and experiment. Enjoy the hobby! I'm always here if you need any assistance.

@@axletwisterrc4526 I appreciate you taking the time to reply! For now I’ve just taken the internal springs out of the shocks and the smallest leaf spring. I’m going to drive the hell out of it and only mod slowly overtime, but I’m having a blast as is. PS it’s also cool how you involve your son in the UTSE vid, mine are a little too young 3.5 and 2 so they would think they are toys, but I definitely want to take them since we’re here in FL. Thanks for the vids, I’ve learned a ton.

Holy-smokes...we think similar in our builds. You definitely win on having a crowded chassis. Lol. Your layout is really well planned I just got finished totally rebuilding my old 8 year old Trailfinder. All A&M Garage stuff, Boom Racing LC70 axles that I put the conversion kit on it to take it out to darn-near AR44 width. Tho, I didn’t need the leaf-springs mounts...the LC70's bolt right up. As for the Motor-drop conversion , a young man named Dave who extremely smart and a buddy of Medic(RC Sparks)created the motor-drop conversion. I got the information from him. Then a few months later did a video but it wasn't very in-depth. Josh and I....a friend from the old Google+ and has "Mid-life RC" on KZbin was talking one day...he said "Tom , would it be OK if I did a more in-depth video of the Motor-drop conversion". Hahaha...I was like "Buddy , you do great video....it'll be awesome". And he did a fantastic video of it. We had a fun time experimenting and getting cost effective performance out of the Trailfinder way back then like the O-ring modification. First time I saw that was my buddy Nathan did it at the first Pro-line event , before it was called Pro-line By The Fire. Sorry I'm long winded. Great build. Looking forward to getting the front Anti-wrap Bar. I thought about making one myself because I get a ton of wrap using the new axles. Keep up the good work on the videos.

Man I wish the LC70 axles was out when I first did the axle swap. They are awesome! I am getting ready to start a D110 Camel Trophy build so I have a feeling it will be seeing them lol. Thanks for the motor drop history. It is hard to know anymore where things originated from so its refreshing when I learn of the originator. I appreciate all the feedback. Thank you Sir for your conversation and positivity.

@@axletwisterrc4526 Looking forward to the D110 build...see what you do to it. I think if I got one I'd probably build a long wheelbase Clodbuster Chevy body for it. I've looked at them for awhile now. Ya...on the Motor-drop conversion and O-ring modification...I definitely can't take credit...I wish I was that smart. Hahaha. But definitely posted and helped alot of guys out how to do it right that I'm sure I helped it get popular. I'm a trend setter...yeah! Hahaha Anyway...gotta get out to the garage and finish up the modification to the CFX-W....I'm putting a modified 10.2 front servo mount on the rig with a Reefs Rc 299LP servo winch including an old-school looking solid round-stock bumper. Was hoping to get a test video of the winch soon.

Awesome Reefs definitely has some good products. I will definitely be doing dual winches on my D110. You definitely should do the long wheelbase Chevy build. It's always great seeing the longer wheelbase rigs. I'm certain when you are done with it it will be premium.

I have a hard time just wiring up one esc. Lol. So how do you control the extra esc in your receiver? Are the two extra tied together battery wise and then the motor leads is what goes to your winches? Sorry so many questions but when you took the body off I had to know how all that works together.
@axletwisterrc4526
@axletwisterrc4526 Жыл бұрын
Yes all the ESCs pull power from the same battery. The winch ESCs use a thinner gauge wire that is easier to hide and manage.

Question about the driveshafts. I just did the A&M parts on my Marlin and that's the last piece of the puzzle for now. I checked the Super Shafty site and didn't see these on there. Did you just have to order the correctly length from a custom build or am I missing something? Good looking rig with a lot of time put into it.
@axletwisterrc4526
@axletwisterrc4526 2 жыл бұрын
The easiest solution is to get the Vanquish Axial 10.2 driveshaft set. It works perfectly. You will need to file a couple mm off the output shafts of the transfer Case but the nice part is this driveshaft set works on all the A&M Garage skid configurations.

Awesome truck. What are the parts and order you would upgrade the RTR in?
@axletwisterrc4526
@axletwisterrc4526 4 жыл бұрын
I just updated the description to include all the parts in this truck😉. Take it slow with the upgrades and keep in mind some of them have trade offs. The AandM anti Wrap is and shackle reversal kit is in my opinion the 2 most important actual money upgrades you can do. Shim the stock axles, loctite everything, upgrade the hardware as you will find the factory is extremely low quality. Look up the video scale builders guild has on the 5 free mods for a leaf truck. Keep in mind what you are doing. A leafed truck is a leafed truck. Yes you can definitely increase performance but it will cost you and in the end that has to be what you are after.

Depending on how you look at it. The chassis, transmission, transfer case are all still in play. Yeah I changed the axles but anymore that isn't out of line. The rest of it could have easily stayed factory TF2. Thanks for watching and the comment. I hope you enjoy the content.
