Originally - Somaliland British Protectorate Gained Independence from It's Colonial Of Britain 🇬🇧 On June 26, 1960. At the same time, Somaliland Historically was the first country gained its independence throughout all African countries. At that time, Somalilaand received recognition from 36 countries of the United Nations. Firstly thanks for coming to Somaliland. Somaliland was a former British protectorate, we have got our independent in 26 June 1960, at that time Somaliland was recognised more than 35 countries including The US,UK,France,Egypt, USSR, China, Ghana, Ethiopia, And many more. Five days latter Somaliland and UN trusteeship Somalia tried to unite, legally that union was un ratified, 1 year after that unratified union Somaliland armay officers attempted a military coupe but that had failed. After more than 20 years Somaliland being under Somalia's occupation, Somaliland entered 10 years of independence wars in which hundred thousands of Somalilanders lost their lives, millions have been displaced, and in 1991 Somaliland regained it's lost independence and after 32 years Somaliland was built from group up, now Somaliland control it's territory, it is peaceful, It has its own democratically elected government, it's passport, Visas, It's own currency, military, police and every thing a state should have, we are only lacking Re recognition and our seat in united nations and international organisations.

Everything else u will find here, Somaliland has a vibrant entrepreneur community and what we don't have his brought in through Berbera port, one of the most efficient in Africa. Best time to go is in the two rainy seasons.

Somalia was never recognized, and till now, it is riding on Somaliland's recognition. We are not Northern Somalia. We are Somaliland. Somaliland gained independence and recognition in 1960 by 35 countries. Somaliland united with Somalia but took our independence back after the genocide. Since 1991we have been apart from Somalia. For almost over 33 yrs and Somalia government has zero control over Somaliland. We built our nation from the ashes. We have peace, democracy and prosperity insight. Somaliland is a very peaceful nation that will be recognized again. Somalia divided itself into Puntland, Jubaland, Galmudug, and so on with different flags and presidents. Somalia is president and has zero control over parts of Somalia. Some parts of Somalia are in control by al shabaab. Other parts are protected by AMISOM. Turkey controls the ports, airports, and hospitals. Somalia is literally a failed state. Somalia will go under the UN soon. Especially after Somaliland is recognized. Also, Somalia doesn't have borders the reason Ethiopia can come and go as it pleases. Somaliland, the international boundary between Somaliland and Ethiopia, was based on the 1887 agreement between Britain & reached Ethiopia. International boundaries with Somaliland, not Somalia.

Somaliland gained independence from britain in 26, june 1960. Somalia gained independence from italy in 1st july, 1960. Somaliland united whith somalia but that union was never ratified legally according 2005 fact-finding mission. In 18 may, 1991 somaliland declared it's independence from somalia. A constitutional referendum was held in Somaliland on 31 May 2001.[1] The referendum was held on a constitution that affirmed Somaliland's independence from Somalia. 99.9% of eligible voters took part in the referendum and 97.1% of them voted in favour of the constitution. Since the referrendum, somaliland made it's own currency, police, military, Parliament and Educational institutions. In the last 33 years somaliland became the beacon of hope, peace and the largest de-facto country. Somaliland held several of free and fair democratic elections specially one man one vote. What's funny is somalia still claims somaliland. When it comes somalia there is never any one man one vote elections. Somalia became major factory of terrorism and piracy.

Somaliland received its independence in 1960, and we chose to erase our borders and create one unified Somalia. Djibouti was smart enough to keep their independence, and the rest are either part of Ethiopia or kenya. We are now creating our boarders again.
