I like the simplicity of your floorplan because, at the end of the day, it is all about functionality and not the bling.

You are styling! I miss Maui. I'm wondering which Walsh was your dad, Mike or Pat? I moved to Maui in 1976 to work on the crew building the Kahului Charthouse, and when it was almost done, Lance Mann and Mike Jenkins brought a crew of a bunch of restaurant guys over from Road Island that were only in their late teens, early twenties, but were excellent cooks, chefs waiters, and restaurant managers, to open the restaurant with an already successful team. I was 19, an avid surfer/shaper, and was already experienced with all the secret spots on Maui, trained by Kevin Tackaberry, and various other old original Maui guys. So I took those guys under my wing and blew there minds with all the gnarly surf spots, and they taught me a lot about proper restaurant work nd how to get crazy and wild partying. One thing I quickly noticed is that they all went by Nick names. Pat was Ape man, Mike was The Night Crawler or just night crawler. There was R.D., T-bone, Jovial or Jove, Jack Flynn was Peeps, and Mike Landry was "Boot". Each name referring to some stand out incident or characterizing feature that defined them forever after. I could tell you stories for days, but I'm sure Maui is a lot more exciting these days. That was before windsurfing popularized Maui and made it super crowded by the end of the 80's. Now Jaws has probably eclipsed every thing else. But that was a great era and I had a lot of good times with those guys exploring Maui.

Nice pad, I would love to live in Maui! Top tip for Hobie 16 sailing in high winds... traveller out an extra 6 inches or so to give you more time in to react to the gusts!

true and you gotta bend the mast back as far as you can and keep the rig taut. Hobie 16s are dysfunctional, they identity as and try to emulate submarines 😁

Curious to why you spend time indoors on a stationary bike when you could be biking outdoors. On Maui.
@tobyneo52043 жыл бұрын
Not all of Maui is flat and good for biking. If you bike down a mountain you have to bike back up. Plus Maui has some of the most narrow sketchy roads to be biking on and sharing with cars.
@joeblow19423 жыл бұрын
The roads are narrow, slippery when wet and very dangerous cuz of cars.
