These amazing people have experienced the most diabolical forms of hatred for at least 2000 years while we ethnic Chinese have only started experiencing hateful racism during the Qing Dynasty. My utmost respect to the Jewish people.

This is one of your best vlogs, Tal. Didn’t know that the Iraqi Jews migrated to Singapore. Appreciate very much the tour of Magen Aboth. What an impressive Torah collection! Never seen anything like it - it’s huge! Cheeses El Synagogue - WOW 🤩! The pita bread looks so delicious and fresh, but it looks like there was no zhoug in your falafel sandwich. Thank you for taking us along,Tal! 😊

I don't think it is that Judaism and Jewish culture is so private. I think it is that there are so few Jews in the world and most non-Jewish communities don't teach anything about Judaism or Jewish culture since it is not relevant to them.

The ancient Jewish communities of Baghdad can trace their ancestry to the Hebrew speaking Jews of ancient Judah who were exiled by the Babylonians. Fast forward to the 1800s some of the modernization processes in Shanghai(China), the port of Mumbai, Calcutta, Singapore, Malaysia, and even British ruled Burma(modern day Myanmar) was initiated by Iraqi Jews. They started modern trade routes between Europe and East Asia. From London in the west till Nagasaki in the east. Wealthy Baghdadi Jewish men were famous for being scholars of Hebrew, Iraqi Arabic, Persian, and learned English under British rule. The first lithographic printing press in Iraq was for the printing of a Hebrew language newspaper. It was called 'Ha Dover'. The first female editor of a British newspaper was from a Baghdadi Jewish family as well. Some of the Iraqi Jewish foods are the same as in ancient Israel. Baghdadi Jews in Shanghai helped East European Jews escaping the Nazis to seek refuge temporarily in Shanghai during the Second World War., etc...

You should go to Hong Kong. The Jewish community there is also mainly of Baghdadi origin. In fact, the Peninsula Hotel, Hong Kong's very posh colonial hotel, was founded by a Baghdadi Jew, and it's still owned by the same Jewish family that is now probably into at least the third generation in Hong Kong.

It has never been "common" to convert to Judaism. To convert to Orthodox Judaism, you must live in an Orthodox Jewish community so you can participate in Jewish living. It is extremely easier to convert to Reform Judaism but the Orthodox will not recognize it.

Even the Indians who are somewhat more spiritual like those who convert to Christianity or Islam never ever analyze Hinduism properly. They just take Hinduism at face value and assume that it's idolatry. Such is the case.

For example the lower castes of India who are barred from learning the Vedas believe in Polytheism. They never question anything. They never created their own Monotheistic/Monistic religion. Atleast Christians had their saints and priests in Europe. Which the common population in India never had. You have people like who is more like a Teletubbies Huggies saint Amritandamayi Ma, not a philosopher/mystic.

Both kosher and halal forbid eating pigs. Both have a method of slaughter. Kosher is more involved but some Jews only keep part of it. The TravelingClatt does not seem to keep kosher at all; there was a video where he ate camel which is a forbidden animal according to kosher.

@@stephenfisher3721 I usually fast on those days too, observe for two days, in month of Muharram to celebrate the exodus, it was the sane day Prophet Nuh (AS) Noah landed his ship on dry land after the flood and when Prophet Muhammad (saw) grandson was killed unjustly and his children, including babies... as the women asked for water for the baby being thirsty, so the soldiers put an arrow throw the baby to rid of his thirst...we remember this tragic event, reminding us of fitnah that division creates... We fast from predawn to sunset, no food or water... I think you guys cannot eat bread that day, am I right?

@@mikidias Ashurrah means 10th day, the 9th, 10th and 11th day of Muharram month are observed... We can fast any two days out of the 3 days of Ashurrah, buts not obligatory fast but lesser Mushttab fast which is higher recommended category. The religion was slowly revealed through 23 years as the arabs were from completely pagan culture with no rules, so they needed to be slowed weaned off of bad habits and introduced and trained to take upon harder obligations...they needed to build their spirituality over time as it would make practicing easier...

Singapore is a good example that you don't need an apartheid and genocidal policy to have all communities living in peace. The native Malays here are accommodating to the migrants, and the migrants are respectful to the democracy and way of living here.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 the same malays that get less economic opportunity and benefits to their status of being relegated to the lower class in the hierarchy in singapore, and aren't allowed to serve in certain sections of the military? The malays know they are being displaced slowly and if they speak up against it the govt will shut them down on ground of stirring up trouble. there's also no democracy in a nation that uses toughest measures to punish dissent and underhanded tactics to keep the party in power for over nearly 59 years

@@iversonpurwanto8933 I just enjoyed his latest Bangkok video of Rabbi Kantor's shul (The Chabad shaliach in Thailand). I think he is Askenaz (he is married to a Cunin, from LA, who is Ashkenaz), but the Sifrei Torah Tal showed us were all Sephardic. I have davened there but unfortunately don't recall exactly, however I am pretty sure (atleast from the Torahs), that it is a predominantly Sephardic shul. They have numerous minyanim, so maybe they have both? But you are correct--it would be a good thing for Tal to point out! What nusach do they predominantly use for davening?
