If I may ask: At 6:50, why are you cutting the inner parts of the fabric? Is it so that there is less tension when turning it? (Sorry I'm still a noob with sewing, I just wondered!) Great work btw!

Yup, it helps the fabric have more bend.

For making more durable dolls, I recommend buying a plastic armature. It is extremely durable and it doesn't wear out and break like wire. I have some that I bought myself. The only problem is that the plastic armature could probably only be used as a spine, as you would have to find a way to connect the arms. (You'd probably need to add some clay or what not to the end where the tail starts or where the chest is, unless you're making some snake like creature) Just a recommendation though. I'd hate to see the wire of your lovely creatures break~

Thanks, but I've been making these guys for around 4 years and I've never had a problem. Plastic armatures can pop out of the sockets and easily break as well so it's much of a muchness.

Any tips on making the neck sturdy so bending won't snap the wire?

Hmm, just use a good quality wire, I've never had a wire snap before.
