As a home builder in Texas, I can confirm the stories of Chinese building massive warehouses in Oklahoma for marijuana production . One of my concrete guys said he spent the previous year in Oklahoma building the slabs for the warehouses. He said the slabs were huge, and went on as far as the eye could see in both directions. He said the clients were all Chinese and paid cash.

As an Oklahoman, this has been an ongoing problem and one that is not talked about nearly enough. I have family in law enforcement. I noticed a significant amount of military helicopters flying operations in my area in NE Oklahoma. When I brought it up to my LEO family members, I was informed those weren't all National Guard aircraft like we'd been told. The majority are state law enforcement and other agencies running operations against illegal grows in our area, and across the state. Most being Chinese owned. Oklahoma has had a drug problem long before the Chinese grows popped up, but it's completely out of hand now. I know dozens of people (yes, literally dozens) that have been offered cash for their rural properties, most of which weren't even on the market. When asked who it is offering cash for hundreds of thousands and often millions of dollars worth of land, the answer is always the same. They were Chinese. We need to fix this s**t, like, yesterday. The invasion through Texas coming into Oklahoma mixed with the Chinese presence already here is destroying this state.

I'm from Oklahoma, it's absolutely wild but luckily local folks are runnin these people out of the state. Most of the Chinese farms have been kicked out (in my area), if you wanna see them yourself there are some hunting apps that give you the land owner information and you'll see these insane compounds with walls randomly in rural areas. Something people might find funny is they started flying American flags, the reason is cause when they flew Chinese flags they would get robbed by their fellow migrants knowing they were weak targets.

@@joeseppy949 Because I don't think its recreational use really helps anyone. Most people I've been around who use it recreationally seem to lead pretty similar lifestyles, or inhibit similar things. But the biggest reason is because I had a friend finally convince me to try it, after many attempts by telling me that there's nothing negative that can come from it, and that it actually has benefits... I ended up smoking it with him a handful of times, and the last time I experienced a seizure. It was the worst experience of my life and I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I've had crippling anxiety and my health has been deteriorating ever since. I haven't been able to leave my house a single time in several years, not even to get to the hospital, which I desperately need. I'm a prisoner in my own house/room. That seizure happened when I was 24...I'm now 32. I lost a lot of my best years, and my future years are uncertain. And now someone is running a farm practically next door, despite me living in a remote location in the woods. And ever so often when the wind blows this direction, the smell hits me and takes me back to the night I had that seizure.

It's wild that Maine is so wrapped up in this. If you ever come to visit here one of the first things that you'll notice is that you can't take a single step in any direction anywhere without running into a dispensary. I don't smoke except for special occasions but my brother wanted in on growing a few years ago and he was told that all of the licenses had been sold already and it would be years before he would be accepted. It really pisses me off that an American veteran with truly great intentions (he used it to treat his own PTSD and it worked) was denied but they happily accept applications from foreign nationals who would think nothing of dusting it with fentanyl. I think that no matter what your opinion is on bud that it may be time to consider that it can and is being used as a weapon. It might not be a bold, in your face threat but to pacify and dull the senses of your enemy is absolutely a viable strategy.

Went ice fishing, and we were concerned about a buddy who wasn't there. We knew he was an addict, and concern turned to judgment until my older brother picked up a big old rock and threw it near the shore. Made a thunk sound and a hole. "People look at the hole in the lake but miss the cracks spreading out. Not everyone is at the lake looking at the hole, but we feel the cracks. We make judgments on things we won't know, imagine if you knew." Very different situation, very similar logic.

Mamama is probably a lady. The first Ma is pronounced like “Ma?”, as if you were answering a question (chinese is a tonal language, the way you pronounced ma can change its meaning), and is usually a surname, when paired with those characters. The following two characters are pronounced in the same way one would pronounced “la” while singing, just a kind of high pitched long A sound, but as Ma, and when put together literally translates to mother. Its worth noting that the surname Má can also translate to hemp. This means that translating Mamama’s name to “mommy pot” is actually a perfectly fair translation.

OK resident born and raised. The entire implementation of the "medical" pot system in OK has been a joke since the first legislative draft. There was never an enforcement branch until recently and there's corruption in every aspect of the process. I am not surprised it's become what it is now. Organized crime in OK has skyrocketed since all of the transplants arrived 20 years ago to help the tribes build casinos and it's gone downhill ever since. Probably the reason medical pot passed in the first place by a strictly conservative legislature, someone was paid to write and pass a half hearted bill and turn a blind eye.
