I'm fortunate to gives private tours in this amazing park, I've been here thousands of times and it never gets old . Being able to visit , view and experience Ancient history in North America is a rare , beautiful thing . Go , see it , but visit with respect .

Awesome. Always wanted to go there. Looking at a map it's easy to see why it's still so dark. No mystery.

Exactly! That's a big reason why I moved here! Have you ever been to Phils world? If you visit Mesa Verde you have to check out Phils world which is only a few miles from there, if you like mountain biking! ;)

@@sanjuanmountainhomes Nope, but I've been to Durango a few times. It's just so far away.

I spent two days here in 1994, camping in my tent whilst exploring these fascinating Anasazi built structures. There are many others scattered throughout the Mesa. The general consensus was that drought over decades had resulted in migration to more suitable locations for them to exist.

Unfortunately the park’s sites aren’t open most of the time, and never at night-so do your research before driving out there if you’re planning a visit.

Well technically they are open at night if you are camping there.

I went to Mesa Verde and Black in September of 21 and it was one of the best trips I’ve been on.

Yes Mesa Verde is awesome. I was there twice in this summer ’21. Please let people know that the wall face is being renovated for four years. Two have passed. No one is allowed into the cave dwelling area shown in this video for another two years. It’s unsafe.

yes it's true there are a couple areas that are closed to direct access, however you can still see quite a bit from a distance and it's very much worth seeing. Every year on Christmas Eve they light luminaries in the dwellings....it's such an incredible a sight to behold.

It's important to be able to see the stars in our corner of the Milky Way Galaxy. Our night sky is imprinted in the cultural memory of all humanity. We should all embrace it for what it is: our home in the universe. The Hubble Telescope discovered and recorded many millions of other galaxies, so we should pay more attention to the one we have. (PS: estimated number of galaxies in the observable Universe is about 2 trillion)
Man the media needs to talk culture and diversity classes. No asian Native Indians were here. Only Native Americans
