Inside the Mind of Splatoon 3 Crab Tank Users

In Splatoon 3, one of the most popular special weapons that have become part of the early game meta is the Splatoon 3 Crab Tank. The Crab Tank is a turret-style special that can rapidly fire ink at an individual opponent or launch area of affect projectiles that reach around corners. It also has the option to slowly strafe while shooting or morph into a ball to protect its user. The special is incredibly bulky and as long as its driver stays protected, it can power into the action, wiping out the enemy team. There are quite a few weapons that have the crab tank already from the semi-automatic nozzlenose to the evasive splat dualies. What main or special weapon would you like me to cover next? Seeing a crab menacingly approach your clueless team is like the meteor advancing to the unaware dinosaurs, mass destruction. Unless someone can get behind it then it's just sort of an almighty God with one of the most L weaknesses.

Another thing to note about the crab tank is that if a bomb is thrown behind you while you're firing it'll explode instantly, likely killing you. I'm totally not speaking from experience... Awesome video Alpha! 🐯

As a splatling main. I honestly think the crab tank overshadows every splatting outside of hydra and mabye ballpoint. Be up crab tank just dose a heavy splatlings job better in my opinion.

I like being able to go from being a short ranged splash to bullying backliners, easily my favourite special in the game. (Also inside the mind of Tacticooler users could be pretty fun)

I was really surprised that there were no second variants released with launch. Now Splatoon 3 has been out for almost 3 months and we still don't have them. But we know they'll come eventually, because there is a Gold Dynamo Roller in the trailer. And when we do get them, I'd give the Custom E-Liter Squid Beakon and Crab Tank.

Well, it does have solid paint, but specials like Storm that allow your main to paint as well have better paint. For example, an Explo with Storm up can solo contest the zone al long as the storm is on zone.

genuinely think that crab tanks most deserved nerf would be reducing its vertical flexibility. it physically does not look able to aim down or up more than 30 degrees, yet it has the same range of motion as a normal player. i think hiding below a tank would at least introduce a small level of counterplay that would make the special at least a little more balanced

It legitimately is in pro play. A major tourney's finals had six crabs in the game. Two splashes and one dualies on each team, with Flingza as the the last slot for missiles, the second best special that also counters crab.

@@tetra_kirby5691 yeah I saw some game play of it. I hope they balance things out so we see more weapon and special weapon verity in competitive. But alas we’ll just have to wait and see. Honestly I think crab tank is cool special but I do think it makes splatlings ( because let’s be honest it’s a better splatlings actually has a strong role) pretty irrelevant and it’s not the funniest special to be on the receiving side considering most of its counters are very specific.

My whole Crab Tank game changed once I discovered you can quick turn by balling up and turning the camera behind you, once you release the ZL button, you'll automatically face where you turned the camera, so if someone gets behind you, use the Crab Switch(yes I'm calling it that) and give them a scare. 😉 Edit: Now I'm going to make it my goal for today to crush at least 2 people with Crab Tank, thank you, AlphaStar. 😈
