Fun fact : This is the canadian version of the French language. The Squiffer "Lignizateur alpha" becomes the "Décap-express Alpha", the "Pouche-pouche" premium becomes the "Aerogun Premium". "Excellent !" becomes "Joli!", and "Eclaboussé" is replaced by "Tu as liquidé ...!". Admittedly, I have been informed that this is Quebec's version of French, but if you can change your region to EU, then you'll be all set!

Many people have already said it but you played the Canadian french and not the France french. There are some difference between the two versions, which makes me question the Canadian french names for the Idols. Because in France french the names are very different (And Shiver's name is outrageous) so I'm curious to see if they had the same has English, France french or completely new names.

Funfacts about the Spanish translation: The names of the members of Deep Cut (Clan Surimi) are actually puns, in the same way how a pack of sharks is called a "shiver" and a newborn eel a "fry(e)" ! This is because their names sound similar to the creatures they fight alongside them. Frye is named "Angie", and in Story Mode she uses eels to fight, "eel" in spanish is "anguila", therefore, "Angie" "Anguila". Shiver is named "Megan", and this is obvious for english speakers, "Megan" comes from the extinct shark, Megalodon. Big Man is "Rayan", although he is THE creature, "Rayan" comes from "Mantarraya", a stingray !

the reason why the squiffers have alpha at the end of their names is because the japanese version does so, and most versions are translated directly from japanese.

"Bazookarpe" and the other similar names are most probably come from words similar to bazooka and carp, as it's literally a fish gun. As another person already said, in German it's "Operation Goldfisch" wich is definetly less fancy than Bazookarpe but we again have something to do with fish. Don't know what the original japanese name is, but it's probably also something with fish and English just had to be different and name it rainmaker haha
