I've always wanted to visit Loket, but haven't managed to do so yet. I don't know if you've already covered the castle Houska, which is not too far from Prague, but it's pretty interesting and my kids enjoyed it. Legend has it that the fortifications do not face towards the outside, but rather inwards. This is because underneath the castle's chapel there's a bottomless pit that is said to be the Gateway to Hell. Therefore, the castle was built not to keep enemies from getting in, but to keep the Devil from getting out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houska_Castle

I've been there recently. It is a nice castle, but there is still a lot of ongoing renovations. You might want to wait until everything is done. Otherwise, the view there is breathtaking. It is magnificient. Loket is a lovely little town near Karlovy Vary.

There is significant doubt as to whether the iron maiden was ever used in the period. It could have been a made up thing. Kings in medieval times didn't really live that well. They had no youtube videos to watch
