I am all for performance and luxury but this is also a family car. how well as merc balance these conflicting worlds? just look at the tires. 30 on the back! how thin can it go? and with a sporty suspension i guess the back seat passengers will feel all the bumps and holes...

E63S has best performance and feel to it while the S63 is focused more on luxury; however, they share the same motor so it really depends what you’re looking for. I prefer my E63S as I rarely have more than 2 people and the 2 front seats are super comfortable!

Great car but I can't get the logic to buy one, the E43 is fantastic and very fast, but upgrading from the E43 to something with supercar performance then surely you have to choose the either AMG GT or GT R which are really amazing!

I think I understand your point, I'm just struggling to see the E63 as a family car. To me, it is a super car with a saloon/sedan body, it's set up for performance rather than comfort & thus not ideal for taking the kids to school or doing a shopping run, where as with the E43 you still have bags of perfomance but it's still as comfortable as any other bog standard e class. This is my issue with the E63, it has the performance but it just looks like a modified e class, yet the AMG GT, GT C & GT R all have the performance and look like actual super cars! I kind of feel the E63 is compromised in either role.
