Yeah, your guide gave you a raw deal. You should have toured Kitisuru, Kileleshwa, Nyali, Runda Green, Roselyn, Loresho, Muthangari, Westlands, Parklands, Muguga Green, Tilisi, Tigoni, Karen, Mukoma, Lavington, Kilimani, State House, Dennis Pritt, Mountain View, Wilson Airport estates, Ngong Rd estates, Riverside etc. He does not seem to know some parts of Nairobi well.

United Nations staff members n offices are in the area, the American n other ambassadors stay there too, so it is for security reasons, infact after 7pm when you are found walking on foot, u will get questioned if not arrested.

Hi Ug Connect your host erred, it’s not the headquarters of the UN in Africa. Kenya is the only country in the global south that hosts a UN agency UN Habitat and UNEP (the United Nations Environment Program). Muthaiga is the wealthiest neighborhood.

It's actually all over the world even in "developed" nations. We have this idea that it's only in Africa or our own countries that have the extremely rich and extremely poor in separate places. Capitalism is the nature of most economies around the world and it comes with the divide between the rich and poor.

Bbs is just a collection of shops in an old design and sits in just an acre. It also sits in a chaotic , congested, dirty and crime-filled neighborhood. Two Rivers and Village Market are bigger ,cleaner, more hygienic,.more.cosmopolitan, easier to access, more variety, better quality shops, much safer, more pleasant sorroundings, have more activities and nature as well as much greener. BBS ranks low and all the other malls you know in Kenya are by far better. Name them -Junction, Prestige, The Hub, Waterfront, Garden City, Nyali, Sarit, Unicity, Nexgen, TRM, Langata Hyper etc.
